6/26/98 Real Busy, sorry
Sorry, I spent way to much time on RoDE in the past two days that I think I'm getting cross-eyed! Anyways, in case you beta testers are wondering. I haven't really checked my DW email so any forms posted in the past two days havn't been read yet. Don't worry, I'll get to ya!
6/22/98 NT/98 Testers needed
Almost every person who signed up as a beta tester uses Win95. We need some more WinNT and Win98 users to sign up as beta testers. If you use either of these and has not sign up yet, please do so! Yes, I know there arn't very many Win98 users out there. If was only out for a short time, then Microsoft got sued so it was taken off the shelves. It's suppose to come back some time this week.
6/21/98 Quiz Report
So far, the average score for the beta testing quiz is 2 out of 5. Nobody has gotten question 1 right. Here is the question:

1. There are two sectors next to each other, both have the same ceiling level. Sector A has floor 0 and sector B has floor 128. Which linedef trigger would make sector A rise up to the height of sector B at the speed of infinity?

The answer is very unexpected!!!

6/18/98 ResDe is sick
Yikes, ResDe is sick so no programming will be done for a few days. Don't worry, I'm still writing the interface.
6/16/98 Geeze
Looks like I have lots of beta testing submissions to do. I'm pretty busy these days with RoDE so hang on will ya? I still have to write a quiz for you guys so I know you know what you're doing.
6/14/98 Texture thumbnails
So far, we got the texture thumbnail display on the toolbar.
6/13/98 Beta Testers Needed!
Yes! We need beta testers for FragMaker! You'll get FragMaker earlier with every release and check out what's inside. Of course, this is not some kind of givaway. You do need to test FragMaker and report any bugs to me. You must be an elite editor to be a beta tester, you've got to know what you're doing to test an editor, right? Currently, we have 8 open spots for beta testers. Covero and Linguica are already counted in (thanx for Doomworld guys).
6/12/98 Textures
FragMaker now allows the user to choose the IWAD on first launch and loads side textures from the IWAD and the current PWAD. Texture display is not yet complete.
6/11/98 The Toolbar works
The toolbar now displays the upper tex (in text), middle tex, lower tex, x offset, y offset, sidedef sector #, and the linedef tag #.
6/10/98 Zooming
Now the zooming works too. We're still trying to get FragMaker to center the map on where you want to zoom in on.

Selecting
The selected objects now lights up. (Or goes to whatever color the user defines).

6/9/98 Yeeeeeeeeesssssssss! It works!
Yep, the coordinate problem is now fixed! The 16-bit version of SetWindowOrgEx() does the opposite thing as the 32-bit version of SetWindowOrgEx(). Too bad we were looking at the old reference books for 4 freak'n days! We tried working backwards and it worked.
6/8/98 Just Can't get it to work
The scrolling seems to be screwing up the coordinate system. SetWindowOrgEx() seems to be doing just opposite of what it's suppose to do. Also, the coordinate system orgin keeps on moving around when you scroll.
6/4/98 More about tool bars.
The tool bars will have tabs. For example, left clicking a line would select the first sidedef and the lindef, right clicking the line would select the second sideder and the linedef. When a line is selected, there would be a sidedef tab and a lindef tab. Tabs are also useful when you have more than one different objects selected at the same time.(sectors, lindef)
6/2/98 Mouse Detection
A bug was found in the mouse detection function which is required for FragMaker to see what you're selecting. Now completely rewriting it...
6/1/98 Selecting
The basic coding for selections is done. Now we're trying to get the object info to appear on the tool bar.

News Archive
Previous months' news is now in the 'old news' page.

5/31/98 FragMaker Manual
Today is the start date of the FragMaker Official Manual. The interface-write up has already started. I'm now making diagrams of the FragMaker toolbar.
5/29/98 Progress Page
Fragtality will have a progress page where all the progress reports will be archived. The new progress reports will still be announced on this front page.
5/27/98 FragMaker's got a motto!
"The Doom editor for the Doom generation"
5/26/98 Node Builder
So you guys voted for using another node builder, we plan to use BSP since it is most FX compatible. BSP is only for the development release! The final release will feature NodeFragger (everything is sooooooooo Fragging), FragMaker's internal Node Builder that will kick ass in FX support!!! Remember, yesterday's vote is still up!
5/25/98 FragThrough and Node builder
While working on the FragThrough yesterday, ResDe realized that the FragThrough will not work until a Node builder is present. The FragThrough was originally planed to be in the development release, but with the node builder, the release date could be seriously delayed. We have three choices:

1. Skip FragThrough in the Development release
2. Include the Node Builder (will delay release date)
3. Use someone elses Node Builder for the Development release(will need to go through permission stuff)

So far, we are not sure what to do, so we decided to let you guys choose. Email me and tell us what you think.

5/24/98 FragMaker Development Release
Yes, there will be a FragMaker Development Release, a rough guess on the release date would be end of June.

How does FragMaker stand out?
I received some emails saying that the FragMaker screenshots looked just like any other editor. Well, FragMaker is suppose to be easy and quick in the user-interface while being advanced and complex in FX support. You can't really show that in a screenshot can you?

5/23/98 Progress Report
The 'New' function is now working, you can make an empty WAD and save it too.
5/22/98 More about InfiniDoom
We have picked up and fixed a couple of interface flaws faced in InfiniDoom. First of all, when you open a saved WAD, make edits to it, then FragThrough it without saving, the last saved version of your WAD will be loaded. Not the current version. To fix this bug, we made FragMaker saved a temp file of your current map and then run InfiniDoom from that. This is not an auto-save 'cause if you FragThough it and find that you messed up your WAD, you'll still have a backup. Saving a temp WAD also made another advantage. If you were editing MAP05, you don't have to wrap to level 5 'cause level 5 is saved into MAP01 in the temp WAD! Also, when you hit that FragThrough button, you don't have to go through all the Doom menus, you just start right away!
5/21/98 Screenshots
The screenshots of FragMaker are now much more sharp. Screenshot #1 is replaced with a screenshot with InfiniDoom on the same level as the original screenshot #1.
5/20/98 InfiniDoom
While chatting on the phone last night, me and ResDe has decide to incorporate ResDe's unseccessful Doom port InfiniDoom with FragMaker. InfiniDoom is sorta like Doom under a small window (can be made large if you want), thus, this can be used as a quick and easy level tester. FragMaker will have a 3D preview and a 3D FragThrough which launches InfiniDoom. It's called 3D FragThrough 'cause this time, you can see the textures (unlike those crappy 3D walk-throughs) and frag the demons. I'll get a screenshot of InfiniDoom working with FragMaker in action tomorrow.
5/19/98 Some things left out
I was planning to put the mailing list sign-up form in a separate page, forgot to do that yesterday. Also, some of the old news was still needed such as "What is FragMaker?". I have put all of these info in the about page.
5/18/98 CoD giant change!
As you should notice by now, Fragtality has become the front page of CoD. Cybrary of Doom and Hell Drop is still here, but they are not as important as FragMaker are they??? By the way, I got rid of the old news. I'll put the old news in an archive later. The fancy graphical links and subtitle images are coming.

FragMaker Screenshots
The first FragMaker Screenshots are here!!! The first pic is Doom E1M1, the second is Hell Drop MAP01, the third is Hell Drop MAP02. They are all in different colors to show that you can customize them. The gray area at the bottom of the screen is the future toolbar. It's empty for now 'cause we haven't gotten to the editing part yet.
