A Story From: Gary L. Sizer (gsizer@usa.net)

I guess the most exciting thing to watch is something like a really high, spinning jump where you catch your opponent in mid air and blood and body parts just shower down all over you...but the one deathmatch experience that sticks in my mind was one that ended in a pathetic whimper, rather than a triumphant boom.

I was playing Quake II one on one with a *very* good player, and we had been in one of those rocket-lobbing toe-to-toe battles that seems like it's never going quite your way...So I started noticing my health go down, down, down, and I finally ran away at like 14 health or something. I also noticed that I had used up all of my rockets and had exactly one bullet left in my machine-gun.

So I'm running around trying to find any health or armor that I could and was having no luck. (It was a user created map I hadn't learned yet) When around the corner comes my opponent. I instinctively shot without really aiming and when my machine-gun made the pathetic little popping sound of "just one bullet" coming out I nearly laughed my ass off when the guy actually died!

It turns out that his 1 health was no match for my 1 bullet! Thanks for all the rockets buddy!
