This is a news post

Pretty much all my spare time lately has been spent programming AMGOS (for those who don't know, it's the engine I'm working on). In the past day or two I have written my own model format and wrote a converter from 3DS files to the internal model format. It is still incomplete, but it should be finished soon. Latest zip is here... you'll notice that previous links don't work, that's because I delete them with every new version (I keep local copies however).
In other news, I'm dabbling in a bit of Quake 2 DLL coding for the project Ebola, Kurt Kesler and Lu-Wang are working on (from what I know it's called "Island"). I'd like to take this time to say how arcane the code seems. I'm slowly working out how to do stuff in there (would probably not take as long if I didn't keep getting cool ideas for AMGOS and rush off and program that in instead of learning the DLL), but I should eventually get the stuff they want done finished.
In more other news, I haven't worked on Space Station Omega since July, and I haven't started my map for RTC-3057, but that's nothing new I guess considering I'm a dreadfully slow mapper.
Oh, and as for Doom Arcade news....

DO YOU WANT TO MAKE MAPS FOR DOOM ARCADE?

Did that get your attention? :P Seriously, if you're interested, click on my name just under this post's heading and send me an email with the subject "I actually visit the Doom Arcade page".
Till next update (whenever that might be...)

Updates seem to take forever nowadays...

Yeah, they're taking a while nowadays. I'm busy programming for this course. We got told what we have to do for our final assignmnt the other day - Scorched Earth in 3D. Shall be interesting considering over half the course failed an assessment the other week (only 22 out of 54 people passed something as simple as splitting a text string up in to separate strings given a character to split it up with). If you're interested in seeing why I haven't been working on Space Station Omega, download this ZIP file. Read the included text files to get some idea on how to use it.

Whoa, it's an update!!!

Yes yes, I finally decide to update this page. Things had been going REAL slow for not only Doom Arcade but also Space Station Omega. I don't have any programming assignments or anything to distract me (finished my Asteroids assignment - if you download it, open BOOT.PI and change the c:/asteroids/res part to be ./res, and make sure you have DirectX 8.1 installed), not as complete as I wanted it to be) so I've taken the time to get Space Station Omega finished and into /newstuff by (hopefully) this coming Sunday's /newstuff chronicles.
In news concerning Doom Arcade, I might have an announcement to make soon about it, but I won't say anything else about it until I know whether to make that announcement.
That is all for now.

I have moved the GeoCities downloads to a subdirectory of this site. The Telefragged hosting guide tells me not to do that, but they also tell me how to go about obtaining upload access to 3ddownloads.com, and after a couple of attempts to get that happening I still haven't gotten a reply. So now you should have absolutely no problems at all downloading the files :)

A new SSO shot

Yeah, work's been going rather slow on it so far, but anyway, here's a nice screenshot showing just how much attention I'm paying to detail. Look at the shot of the intersection in the news post a few posts down, then have a look at this after-disaster shot.

In other news, I'm not sure how much help I'm going to be to Millennium, quite a few well-known community people have come to its aid. I might get a secret map done, and if that isn't the case I will have the task of brushing up any FraggleScript (which may never happen since the original levels were designed without FraggleScript). Oh well, there's still 20 or so days until it has to be released, so we'll see what happens.
