how come when i use the SETFADE thing, it never works or is always in a shade of black w/ a tint of red?? HELP

What values are you using? For the best fog results use:
"xx xx xx" Replace every x with the same number. For example, 99 99 99 makes some nice fog for a swamp or something like that. For misty type fog that would be at night, try 44 44 44. You are better off using:
outsidefade "xx xx xx"
