Thanks for your help. Now I just need to work out how to run zdoom in freebsd.
Does zdoom support 3d floors?

ZDooM does not support 3D floors in the way that, say, Edge does. However, there's a trick that allows the creation of multiple floors. This allows the player to walk on a "floor" that is above another one, and it looks very convincing. There are limitations, however.

I've never seen actual "domes" done before....

Look in the "Ike Andy" link for domes. Not done in Legacy, however. Done in ZDooM v1.23.

Yes, but a dome is a perfect half-sphere, not a bunch of slopes that look like a dome... I though you were talking about true domes. Maybe I'm wrong though...

Get serious. Until a few months ago all an editor could do in DooM was create horizontal and vertical surfaces. We just got inclines and people are already asking for truly curved surfaces? Even relatively recently released games such as Unreal, Q2, and Half-Life do not have true curves, and rely on polygons to create curved-looking surfaces.

I don't know much about Legacy as I don't use it, but I do know that it doesn't have domes and slopes.
