Those are the best "ambient" tracks I have listened so far. Ultima VII and Ultima VII part 2 have great music too, I forgot to mention those.
Heretic music? The good tracks are E1M1, E1M9, E2M8 and E2M9.

Even for ambience they're yawners. Even Quake's ambient tracks carried visage with them and worked outside of the context of the game. Heretic 2's usually don't even go that well with the game.

Yeah, it owns. It's like a variation of Unreal Tournament's CTF or Domination, sorta mixed, only without the fast pace, or the action, or the graphics, or the fun.
By itself it might almost make some sort of half-way decent combat simulator (like those SWAT or Rainbow Six games), but as multiplayer it all boils down to who you're playing with.
In case you haven't noticed, about 99% of the people playing CS on the internet are a bunch of cocksuckers. I had the misfortune of playing it over LAN too. People got pissed when I won... but by the end, I was intentionally getting myself killed so I could get up and get another Pepsi. Most net games time-out when two 733T snipers are so holed up they don't bother looking for each other.
That must-wait-until-game-ends bit is such total bullshit. It turns it into mission-based deathmatch is ULTRA slowmotion.
Half the time I'm just suddenly cut down from a sniper shot. Through a wall. In the dark, roaming around and never stopping. I crouch by windows for Christ's sake.
The rest of the time I'm cut down by machinegun fire, I can deal with that.
*EVERY* single time I kill someone I get 'cheater!!!!!11' yelled at me about a dozen fucking times. I came around a corner one time and shot some asshole in the face with my double berettas. How is that cheating? I guess I should've just shot him through a wall with an aimbot or something.
Yeah, CS 0wnz. Its unjustly occupying almost ALL of the internet game servers and *THAT* is a fucking crime. Half-Life should have never had multiplayer, perhaps this disaster could have been avoided.
