Something interesting happened awhile back. Well, actually, just today I should say. While looking for people to chat with on AIM (I was searching for pepople that liked games, and I think you know what I was hoping to find ), I found this one guy that had a link to DoomWorld on his info page. So naturally, I wanted to catch him before he got offline. I'm sorry to say I don't remember the username of this guy, but we had a short chat. Here's how it went (I'll use "me" to refer to yours truly and "him" to refer to the other user):
Me: Yo, I see you have a link to DW
Him: Huh? Oh, I guess I do
Me: Have you been there lately?
Him: Nope
Me: Were you ever a member of the forums?
Him: Unfortuneately, yes
Me: UNfortuneately? Why's that?
Him: It's a long story
Me: I'm willing to hear it
Him: ok, I first joined DW as PFCGray, and the first few days weren't too good; one post was labeled "LOL @ PFCGray!"
Me: What for?
Him: They said I couldn't take the heat
Me: Sounds to me like you need to loosen up
Him: Well, I didn't post very much during that time; in fact there was this one "dormant" phase where I didn't post for over 3 months
Me: Long time to be away
Him: When I did come back, I had changed my email addy, and then I discovered some shit-for-brains tough guy hacker or whatnot changed my portrait while I was away
Me: Hacker? Maybe it was just Ling
Him: Hmmmmm, now that you mention it, it might have been; anywho, since I changed my email addy, I couldn't have my password emailed to, and, in essence, couldnt change my portrait
Me: Did you just make a new profile?
Him: I was about to get to that. I then changed my username to PFCRon
Me: Wait a sec.......YOU'RE PFCRon???????
Him: You got it
Me: BRB
[at this point I just burst out laughing]
Me: Ok, back
Him: WB
Me: TY
Him: Do you know me?
Me: Somewhat
Him: Are you a DW member?
Me: Yeah, but only for about a couple of weeks
Him: Then how do you know who I am?
Me: I've been checkin out the forums for awhile
Him: How long?
Me: LONG!
Him: Ok, I'll take your word for it
Me: What made you leave?
Him: Many things; people's opinions about the novels were a long term reason
Me: No comment on those books
Him: The short term reason had to do with the #doom chat room at DW
Me: What about it?
Him: They banned me from it for no reason
Me: Come on, that's nothing to get upset about
Him: Enough about DW, let's talk about WADs; do you have any?
Me: Not as yet; how about you?
Him: I'm in the process of making a PC right now
Me: A PC? Themed around what?
Him: Me and a couple of friends are making a WAD called "Raw Is DOOM"
Me: But still, what is that themed around?
Him: I guess you're not a WWF fan
Me: Sorry to say I'm not
Him: Well, that's what it's themed on
Me: Hmmmmm, kewl
Him: I hate to this, but I g2g
Me: Oh, ok, bye
And that was the end of the message. Now is this fortuitous or what??????????? Do you think he'll come crawling back to DW or will he be the whimp that he is and just cry in the dark?

Yeh quite a few people end up coming here only to get pissed off and leave. Those people are weak, if they can't stand our remarks they should go away and not come back. I don't think I pissed him off, I was probably busy doing more important things, but I don't think I like him anyway.

Damn straight. The writing is what kills the novels. The first 2 had potential because the guy created a plot a little more complex than "Kill and retrieve the key". However, there are some funky dialogs that make you want to melt the book in a barrel of Mac's coffee.
