Yep, sure do bro. Get this editor known as wintex (it can be found right here on doomworld). It will let you mess with graphics, sounds, lumps, and even maps and music. Next, read the txt files dat come with the editor, they help a lot. For a map editor I recommend deep, as it also has most of wintex's abilities. These two editors will let you do just about anything. You may also want to get some smaller programs dat you'll need like cleanwad (look in wintex's ini file).
Also note dat in wintex if you change something, it will always keep a copy of the original in da wad, so if you don't need it be sure to delete that original entry before you run da wad. And a wad in wintex can only be up to 65 megs. If you need more help, read on of the many tutorials on wad editing dat are floating around. I hope dis helps a lot.

First, get an editor. If you want one that you can build a room in one step, (drag open a room(s)) get Dmapedit. It is very easy to understand, and is a good editor to learn on. I've kept with it, and the things that it has taught me has allowed me to understand other (more complicated) editors.
