ok i belive many of the doom textures and monsters may have been scans or digital pictures of models and other real life things. like some of the rock and stone texture, sky texture, the cyberdemon and the spider demon, wepons such as the chainsaw and chaingun. also look at the intermission screen for inferno i think parts of it, or most of it was a model made by the ID people. if these models still exsits, or did exsit i think it would be cool if they sold them or gave them out as prises. I wish i had a big statue of the cyberdemon

Well, I have no idea about the textures, but I have seen a picture of the iD guys and a really cool model of a spiderdemon.
I guess it's possible that they used pictures of models for some stuff, and I know the chainsaw is real(saw a picture of that,too).
However, the zombies, imps, and a lot fo other things are too cartoony to be photos. That's not to say they didn't use models as references, though.

Some of the textures are scans, but they seem to came from 3D/2D packages, otherwise they would made a lot more of photorealistic textures. Most of them are drawed old-fashion.
The shotgun and the Spider Mastermind are still around id offices.
