ok. you know when you step into the wrong teleporter and end up in that small structure with the crushing ceiling? what's the point of that structure? you can avoid the crusher, and one of the walls on the automap is yellow, so it's either a switch or a door. i tried leading the cyberdemon into the teleporter for an easy kill. and it doesn't work. anyone have any ideas what the reason for the crusher is?

I just tried that level and was kind of shocked to see all those Cacoes lying around dead, then when you defeat all those BoHs, and go into the room with all the Cacoes, you see about three or four Barons that have been mutilated, locked into three or four claustrophibic cells.
I got all the keys, then opened the door with all those teleporters, and stepped into the one in front of me, and to my suprise I went straight to E2M6-Halls of the Damned! So I don't really know anything about any crusher or the CyberDemon.
The truth is I only play Doom two times a day-daytime and nighttime!-DooMBoy

huh? wrong level. you were in the fortress of mystery. the marshes is the one with the water, the decaying trees, a few buildings, and a cyberdemon. you get to it from level 29 twilight descends.

Am I to understand you've found a pc conversion of this wad?? I remember some time ago, I found a pc version of the marshes. But I thought it sucked so I deleted it :( Basically because of the teleporter-crusher room you couldn't exit thing....
It pissed me off :P

I think it's there as a punishment for going to the wrong teleporter because I don't think you can get out of the crusher room. You will have to restart the level to get out the crusher room on the marshes.

but the yellow wall.... a glitch that you can't open it? there are various glitches like that in the psx version. just look at the soul sphere you can't get to in unholy cathedral.

A lot of the console versions of Doom ended up with glitches. I've only played 32X Doom, but I know there's quite a few in it. The ones I remember right away are each in Containment Area, one where you can't get to a secret and also some enemies in another room you can't kill because the room is stuck outside the map. I remember you needing something like 100% kills to get to the E2 secret level. I never made it to the level, I think it's also impossible.

Maybe the room which requires the yellow key has been deleted from PSX DOOM, unless it's still there if you use the X-Ray cheat.

yup, the room's there. with the x-ray cheat,you can see the soul sphere and the chainsaw. and the level does have the yellow key in it.
