How about a revamped E1M1. It's easy to recognise that it's E1M1 but it has better architexture and shit... maybe instead of all the slime put something else. (The slime with the blue armour could be a landing pad.) Make it bigger... extend it, make it using the Doom2 .wtf so that you have the Doom2 monsters and the super shotgun.
Just a thought.
