I'm wondering what other Doomers like in levels. I personally
like them to be extremely Hellish with lots of enemies. I like
lots of Fire, Flesh and Metal. I also like it to have a few areas that step out of the theme a little. Not just texture but gameplay and such. I like to see small indoor areas and big outdoor areas. I prefer mostly action, but I like it to have some suspense too. It's always nice to see something new too.
Like strange architecture or a new enemy that stays with the Doom atmosphere.

All I want is that textures fit well together and are aligned when needed, and no surprise deaths.

Personally, I like levels to have a certain element to them;

You're at about 10% health, no ammo. Whatever you DON'T want to meet around the corner is there.

Heh heh, I experienced this loads with Plutonia and Doom64, and try to implement it in my levels...

I like levels where you don't have to save after every step, i.e. you're sure you won't die right after the next turn if you won't act stupid. I.e. no deadly traps. :) And, um, careful use of outdoor areas (sometimes they just suck :))
