| Description: |
The catacombs were built by the Romans for their dead. This is a large, intricate and polished level with ornate architecture with lots of special graphics and sounds. In particular the imps have been replaced by mummies. It has a very gloomy and haunted atmosphere and you will be glad to get out at the end. It is an expert's level, with some very violent, but never impossible, fights. See below for more description. |

Reviews:
| Looked like a crypt in some matters, average. | x | | This is from 1999. It's an early source port level. The design is cramped and bland - it's a monotonous maze with single-file corridors. You walk forwards, you walk backwards. There are 282 monsters in a fairly tight space, but it's no fun. 111 of the baddies are lost souls! It feels and plays like any other boring 1995 dungeon maze. Judging by the lengthy smug readme, the author was very proud of his creation, but his pride was misplaced. | x |
