| We're moving up now .. it's a '95 map! | x | | Well this is odd. The file I have just downloaded, lunar2.wad, is a single-player level dated 16 October 2006, by a man called Andrew Manninen, whereas the above readme is of a deathmatch level from 1995 by Mark Barry. Manninen's level is very square and old-fashioned and a bit dull, and ironically it does feel like something from 1995, although it's not bad, just very average and unspectacular. It's not helped by all the teleporters. | x | | Well one useful thing comes out of this - it confirms that at least one person who makes these "omg its from 1995!" type of "reviews" doesn't even bother to download the wads before rating them. | x | | It has been fixed. But this 2006 map is about as bad as a typical 1995 map. | x | | I rather enjoyed this one. Sure, it isn't an innovative map, but it is well made and reasonably well balanced (apart from a bit too much ammo and way too many green armours). Connectivity and flow are both good. For a first map, it is very promising. I look forward to Andrew Manninen's next map. BTW, I think there is an error, with exit linedefs where there should be teleporters. | x | | Well, it wasn't that bad. | x | | This is pretty mediocre and uninspired | x |
