| Description: |
This is first new project in over 10 years. Actually started making this back in the 1997 before I took a "hiatus" so to speak. The idea for the map is based off of those old Fighting Fantasy books where you used dice and blah blah, particularly the first book The Warlock of Firetop Mountain. Back in the day I sketched out the map as described in the book and decided to make a Doom level on it. |
| Credits: |
The usual, id the creators, Randy & Graf for Z & GZDoom, CodeImp for DoomBuilder, SlayeR for SlumpEd
Tormentor667 for Realm667 & The Bestiary
Enjay and his thread on EndSequence Cast stuff on the ZDoom forums. Hey Enjay, I can remember playing NJDoom2 back in Late '94-Early '95 and ripping your awesome ENDOOM screen!
The following guys answered my noob editing questions on the DW forums about slopes & format conversions, adding an inanimate object with Decorate and changing the default weapon:
Phml Rex Pottus GreyGhost chubz Eponasoft Xaser and especially Gez, who answered on all 3 of my editing threads and who always seems to have an answer for everyone |
| Base: |
Modified the my Firetop Mountain, which was about 15% of what you see here when I first started this project in March 1997. |
| Build time: |
Not including 1997, a few hours most days March 19,2012 until May, 2012. A lot of this time was spent learning and studying ZDoom mapping, Doom in Hexen format, and zdoom lump things. |

-glenzinho | x | | Beautiful atmosphere. Nice adventure inside the mountain. However, outside part of gameplay is boring compared to the inside. @ UV: monster placement in lake near red key area could be more original. And is it necessary to use jumping there (also for crossing the river near the yellow key)? Overall: solid 4/5. | x | | ^ Forgot to add it in the text file but yes, jumping is intended and highly encouraged -glenzinho | x |
