<--- I hate this trying to fill this line, but many people like a bit of story, so I better think of one >:-<
Okay, hows this:
After cleaning up phobos, deimos, hell, and earth, you got a little slack, relaxed yourself, etc. Aren't heroes (or heroines, to be politically correct) supposed to get fat juicy rewards? You still have your souvenir bunny impaled on a stake, but it's hardly a king's (or queen's) ransom. If you had asked for money BEFORE saving the world, you could have been the richest man (stuff the equal opportunities, it's getting tedious) on earth.
Now you are sharing a run-down shack with some mice, a million spiders, and a rare form of fungus. you are listed as "experiencing moderate financial difficulties" (ie. you can't afford a piece of paper on which to work out how deeply you are in debt).
There is only one way left to earn a living: bounty hunting. That is where a (substantial) reward is agreed on before you risk life and limb for the salvation of mankind.
You have heard about a military bunker, roughly two miles north of deimos, which could easily have been infected. Using a little blackmail, you secure a nice hefty sum for assassination of the tyrant ruling the adjoining subterranean caves. However, in a (feeble) attempt to withstand the invasion, the occupants of the base did their best to seal off the caves, so access will not be easy... >:-> |

| If the author had five friends, they could be called "Benfold's Five". My joke. This is a large and very bland level without much detail; lots of empty square rooms and Dr Who corridors. It's behind the times for 1997 and feels very spartan and imaginative today. There are a couple of decent bits (some imps feasting on a corpse, and... that's it). Monster fights unimpressive, separated by silence. One good lava chasm, but it's slim pickings. | x |
