Description:	It is an old Beta version of Microsofts DooM version. It works with the IWADs of DooM 1.2, 1.666, 1.9 and also Ultimate DooM. But you can't access the levels of the fourth episode in Ultimate doom. It does not work with the shareware version of DooM, not with DooM2, and also not with the Final DooM IWADS. I have verified, that the -file and the -warp parameter work. Maybe there are also others. The 'Display' -menue of the running WINDOOM.EXE makes you able to display a cool window with benchmark infos.

[Note by the uploader:  I discovered the above listed files on an old 
doom-level-cd, called '1001 nights of DooM', within a file with the name 
WDOOM.ZIP. All these files have been also distributed in the zip files 
WINDM1.ZIP and WINDM2.ZIP. In those two zips was README.TXT not included.
It was obviously later added by an unknown person. WINDOOM.CFG in 
WINDM1.ZIP has another timestamp than that in WDOOM.ZIP. For the 
completists amoung you, that file is included here in WINDOOM_cfg.zip.]

- The README.TXT talks about WIN32S. That's an upgrade by Microsoft to make 
  Win3.x able to run 32bit programs. You find it with any search-engine in 
  the WWW as win32s.zip. If your OS is WIN9x, NT or better, you don't need 
  this.
  
- The officially reased version of WinDOOM can be downloaded from this 
  location:
  idstuff/doom/win95/doom95.zip
  from the /idgames -ftp-archives (see list of mirrors below).
  It comes with the shareware IWAD, but works also with Registered DooM,
  Ultimate DooM, DooM2 and Final DooM.
