Title: Outside For Doom 2
Filename: levels/doom2/m-o/outside2.zip
Size: 487.02 KB
Date: 12/23/95
Author: Michael Hopkins (Aka Kowalski) - Level + GFX Michael Davies (A1 Stud Muffin) - GFX
Description: Outside basicly. A huge level with billions (Well, okay, a lot) of buildings, rivers that interconnect, and lots of hidden areas, and far too much VIOLENCE!!!!!!
Credits: AsM for GFX, Authors of the tools I used in this level. People who originated some of the gfx used in here (Although it is altered)
Base: Modified OUTSIDE.WAD for Doom ][. Lots of GFX changes were required here. New GFX aswell!
Build time:
Editor(s) used: DDT 1.0, RMB 2.1 Alpha, BSP 1.2x, NWT, plus all the stuff I used in the first place (Deu etc.)
Bugs: A few textures are not aligned well :( Soz. Any other bugs should be reported. Oh yeah, this level is so huge you can't save in it without Doom crashing :( . But it is possible without saves. So don't worry too much and if it's too hard try an easier setting.

Lookit mon, 1995 open ended wad, it's all tha rage these days mon, check eeet!x
Maybe i'm mad, but this map liked me a little. MAP01 isn't really bad, reminds a sort of e3m6 style. But MAP21 seriously sucks. Whatever 2.4 stars.x
Map21 is a trivia novelty map with a parallel-world theme, but no baddies worth shooting. Map01 is a large city-style level, along the lines of Downtown or Industrial Zone. On the one hand it's impressively big for 1995, but it's crude and garish, with a lot of square undetailed buildings in random textures - it looks like Second Life. The progression involves a lot of wandering around, back and forth, and it's dull. Nice ambient water effect though.x
