Chapter 1. Antecedents  
===========================================================================
  
WNETDOOM, is a program that it is good to either play in Cooperative Modality,   
or in DeathMatch Modality." The objective is to allow the players, to obtain a
quick connection and without problems; since using the on-line commands can be   
tedious many times and it's very possible the margin of errors while transferring   
the parameters.  
  
This new version also allows to count with characteristic that make more   
interesting the use of WNETDOOM, at the same time that it allows to have bigger 
control of the programs.   
  
WNETDOOM, allows new possibilities around the game managers in Net. It has 
been to combine all the existent resources until the moment with the intention 
of allowing the user to have the biggest handling advantage and flexibility in 
the use of the program.  
  
The ' tool ' was conceived keeping in mind the existent applications at the 
present time. They were carried out comparisons and many tests. Until then, after  
a detailed analysis, it was opted by a simple and quick interface.   
  
Inside the characteristics of the program the following ones can be mentioned:

1* New and revised version for exclusive use in Windows. It allows to count 
   with graphic environment; minimize, maximize and move the System screens.
2* Automatic instalator of the application. The user only has to execute the
   'Instalar.Exe' file, which will generate the folder and respective modules.
3* WNETDOOM is a compact program, fast and very flexible; this new version 
   for Windows really means: 'Your Best Option'. �Try it!  
4. WNETDOOM now allows to install the program in any hard disk unit or
   logic net unit (this is very useful for net games).
5. WNETDOOM allows also to install the program in any directory, giving this
   way the facility to the user to personalize the location of the program.
6. Update and enhance of the Help Manual for the WNET_TCP program - TCP NetWork 
   Mode. 
7. Implementation of the new file 'TCPSet95.Zip' and the 'Drivers.Zip' that 
   include actualized programs and manuals respectively.
8. Automatic trace of the existent DEMO files, to prevent an accidental rewrite 
   of these ones.
9. Automatic depuration of the Report file (Historic.Net). It means, 
   that WNETDOOM cleans several times this file.
10.No more HISTORIC.BAK file. Now WNETDOOM uses a single principal report
   file, in which all the information is resumed.
11.WNETDOOM possess Open Architecture now. It is this way, in this version 
   it allows the entrance of ' aditional parameters ' by the user.  
12.The present version of WNETDOOM, includes support of games recorded by   
   Heretic and Hexen.  
13.Possibility to count with ' five different ' forms of beginning the game:  
   Single Player / Serial Net / Modem Net / IPX Net / TCP-IP Net 
14.WNETDOOM allow the easiness of managing ' four ' of the more well-known     
   games of Id Software. These are:  
   DOOM Ultimate, DOOM ][, HERETIC and HEXEN.  
15.On-line Helps in every moment, for the different ' macros' and calls to    
   auxiliary programs.  
16.Possibility to have a new variety of commands to optimize the program, 
   to make more pleasant the environment and easier its handling.  
17.The Record File (Historic.Net) has been completely optimized.   
   Now the user can consult the data of the last session in a very simple 
   way, since the information is shown as a report form.   
18.Total support of the application. In the last tests 0% process errors 
   were obtained.  
19.Possibility to execute the game in Single Player Mode." Which means that  
   a single player can now access via WNETDOOM the commands that he wants,   
   having all the novel advantages simultaneously, with those that counts
   the previous version.  
20.Possibility of having a new Modality Indicator." This quality  
   allows WNETDOOM, to show the characteristic which the user is using  
   to begin the program.  
   This indicator enters in operation, after the user concludes, the entrance 
   of parameters, and while is carried out the normal load of the game.  
   There are considered four types of Modality Indicators; being these:  
   Single Player / Cooperative / DeathMatch / PlayDemo.  
21.Possibility of having a Record File." That is to say that now,  
   every time that WNETDOOM concludes, it will generate a text file automatically,  
   of name HISTORIC.NET; this file will contain information on   
   which was the last Modality under which was executed WNETDOOM, besides   
   to show the hour of beginning, term, and the date in which it was executed.   
   This file is autogenerated in each new session of WNETDOOM.  
22.The four Modalities that WNETDOOM now manages, possess a single file of   
   beginning. The commands that are spend to the game in each Modality, are different; 
   that is to say that each Modality, generates its own file with the game.
   Each temporary file is autogenerated in each new session of WNETDOOM.  
   Also, both versions of NETDOOM (v1.0 and v2.0), use the same beginning 
   file, facilitating this the simultaneously use of both platforms.  
23.Possibility of lifting a Serial Game in a simple way, without the     
   necessity to be typing a lot of parameters in the prompt, or to be   
   creating batch files to automate the calls to the game with the   
   desired parameters, unnecessarily.  
24.Possibility of having a .INI'S File that allows, as  
   all the formal programs to keep in a file the content of the last 
   work session.  
25.Possibility of choosing between two Serial Administrators" (serSetup and  
   serBoom). As it must be mentioned in the help manual of WNETDOOM; the   
   personal recommendation, is for serSetup, since in its application it is presented   
   more stable.  
26.Possibility of Automatic Generation of Demos" (Demo Recording) that  
   allows to record the incidences from a game to a file of video type.  
27.Possibility of Automatic Reproduction of Demos" (Demo Playing) that   
   allows to visualize the content of a file of video .LMP generated   
   previously. This option is MonoUser, and it doesn't require connection of    
   Serial Net.   
28.Possibility of including Patch Files" that allow to personalize the
   executable of the game.  
29.Possibility of having a Files Agent that allows to revise the 
   content with respect to files of direct use by WNETDOOM.  
30.Possibility of having several Function Keys", to speed up the 
   use of the program, and to make more flexible the environment of WNETDOOM.

Chapter 2. Installation  
===========================================================================

WNETDOOM, can be installed with all its componets directly to the Disk of 
your election. For this, you will only have to execute the 'Instalar.Exe' 
file, which will be proportioned inside the zipped file of the program.
Originally the zipped file will have a name like 'NeTDMWin.Zip'.
The user only has to extract the content of the zipped file and locate it
into a temporal directory which will be only used for the installation.
The directory created in your Hard Drive should be called '\Install'
Likewise you can extract the content of the mentioned file and then transfer
it to a diskette, which will be only used for the installation of WNETDOOM.
The instalator diskette should contain the files in the root directory '\'
The 'Foxw2600.Esl' library should be obtained visiting my WEB page; it is
advisable likewise that the installation has been done from a Hard Drive.

Important Note: You should modify the present configuration at the moment of 
	        the WNETDOOM lauds, for an agreement configuration with the name 
	        location of the files of the game in your hard disk. 
	        After having executed the first test with WNETDOOM this new  
	        configuration, will be automatically recorded and modernized in the 
	        beginning file.

Chapter 3. Requirements of the System  
===========================================================================
  
As minimum requirements of the system, the following ones can be mentioned:

1. PC 486 with a minimum of 100 Mhz. of Prosecution. 
2. To have a minimum of 16 Mb of RAM. 
3. Video Card with Memory of 1 Mb. (as minimum) and if it counts with 
   Accelerating Graphics Card in 3d is much better. 
4. Sound Blaster Sound Card or another that is 100 compatible%. The 
   sound card should have a minimum of 8 bits. 
5. Hard Disk Space, as minimum of 2 Mb. to install the application 
   without space problems.

All these requirements are minimum and they are obvious since at the present, 
there are Computers that go very above these characteristics. 
This means that the installation of WNETDOOM and its later application, 
don't have limits, in what to Hardware requirements and of components it
refers.

Chapter 4. Official files of this Edition  
===========================================================================
  
The files that are included in the current Edition of NETDOOM are the   
following:  
  
	* ARCH_ID.NET  - File of Personal Reference of the Author and the
			 program.
	* ASCII.EXE    - Used by the program to show the ASCII Codes
			 Chart.
	* CONFIG.FPW   - Configuration file for the exclusive use of 
			 WNETDOOM.	
	* DRIVERS.ZIP  - File that includes Help Manual for Net Games, and some
			 References about Drivers for Network Tarjets.
	* ENGLISH.TXT  - File that allows to the user of English language, to be able
			 to request a version in English of WNETDOOM.
	* FAQ.NET      - (Frequently asked questions)
			 (Note: this document is still in elaboration).
	* FOXFONT.FON  - Fonts File for the exclusive use of WNETDOOM, which
			 allows to count with the best characters for the System.
	* FOXPRO.INT   - International File that offers additional support for
			 ordination secuences and code pages.
	* FOXRUN.PIF   - File of exclusive use for Windows to invoke DOS
			 with a more appropriate memory configuration.  
	* FOXUSER.DBF  - File of internal Handling of WNETDOOM. It keeps configurations  
			 and preferences on a DBF'S File type.
	* FOXUSER.FPT  - File of internal Handling of WNETDOOM. It keeps configurations  
			 and preferences on a Memo's File type.
	* FOXW2600.ESL - Exclusive and necessary library for the program. You should
			 obtain it visiting my WEB, shown at the beginning of this document.
	* HISTORIC.NET - Historical File; it contains data on the last time
			 that was executed WNETDOOM. This file is autogenerated.
	* MODEM.CFG    - Alternating File of Configuration for Modem. It should be in
			 the directory of the game. This file doesn't possess ' error
			 correction ', neither ' data compression '.
	* NeTDMWin.TXT - The file that you are reading at this time. ;)
			 This file contains vital information of the System.
	* TCPSETUP.ZIP - Original packed file; necessary to be executed to
			 play in Internet, or in a Net that uses the TCP/IP protocol.
	* TCPSET95.ZIP - Original packed file; necessary to be executed to
			 play in Internet; can be used either in Windows '95 or '98.
	* WNETCLSS.HLP - ' User Manual ' for the WNET_CLASS program - Hexen
			 Class Entry.
	* WNETDOOM.EXE - It is the executable file. It is a compact .EXE with all its
			 program bookstores included internally.
	* WNETDOOM.FRM - Register Form for the program. Don't forget that your
			 colaboration contribute to the motivation of the author.
	* WNETDOOM.HLP - ' Reference Guide' for the user of WNETDOOM - NETWORK
			 GAME MANAGER.
	* WNETDOOM.ICO - Icon File, to be used exclusively with
			 Windows.
	* WNETIPX.HLP  - ' User Manual ' for the WNET_IPX program - IPX NetWork
			 Mode.
	* WNETMODM.HLP - ' User Manual ' for the WNET_MODEM program - Modem
			 NetWork Mode.
	* WNETPLUS.INI - Beginning File for WNETDOOM. It keeps the configurations
			 of the last session.
			 (Try to have a copy of back of this file!)  
	* WNETPLUS.TXT - Allows to recover the structure of the beginning file; if it
			 has been damaged or eliminated from the disk.
	* WNETSERL.HLP - ' User Manual ' for the WNET_SERIAL program - Serial
			 NetWork Mode.
	* WNETTCP.HLP  - ' User Manual ' for the WNET_TCP program - TCP NetWork
			 Mode.
	* WNETWAD.HLP  - ' User Manual ' for the WNET_WAD program - WADs Entry
			 Mode.

Chapter 5. The Author's Projects  
===========================================================================

In fact, several projects are that I have in mind, however the time
and other occupations are the worst enemy of this. But well, 
that there are new projects there are them.

Perhaps I will return to the design of levels (I will see this, because levels 
design takes a lot of time), and the implementation of other WADs and  
applications if it is possible.

Of course, in relationship with WNETDOOM, I will think about new forms of 
making it better, I will try to optimize the data entrance (if it is possible), 
and also the development of this tool in Visual environment.

The possibility of development of WNETDOOM v2.0. !... is still in analysis :(  
In this case it would be considered the support for automatic visualization
of maps, visualization of the logo of the program exclusive for Windows, 
visualizators for historic file and parameters file, automatic restoration
option for inicialization file, besides other characteristics :)

effort to gather the best existent tools in Internet, to make one 
"Miscellany of Utilities to offer the user's good development 
applying all the concepts that are at your disposal with WNETDOOM.

A final note from the author:
The original files of this utility are in Spanish, so maybe the users will
find sometimes some strange or rare words. You should figure out, that I 
have used a translator (Translator Pro and Word '97). If you wish to look 
at these files (or if you know Spanish), you can unzip the file: Spanish.Zip,
that is included here, which will contain the original files with an extension
like *.tx_ and *.hl_ 
You can also use a better translator to have them more understandable, because
these files are all in .TXT format. I give a brief and quick check to all the
manuals, but in case... there you have the original file for any purpose.

Depending on demmand I will be making a complete 'English' version :) So pay
