3rd May 2002 - Doom III officially announced
As you can read in full detail on id Software's newly-redesigned website, the official name of the new Doom game is DOOM III and Activision is publishing it. This official announcement, together with the fact that id is showing the game at E3 later this month, suggests that id is about to finally break the silence about their Magnum Opus. As John Carmack said almost two years ago, "Good things are coming".
23rd December 2001 - This page back online, Q2 source released
Three cheers hooray ! Thanks to Linguica, this page is finally back online after two months of server problems at my old host Doomcenter. Sadly id Software hasn't released any new snippets about Doom 3 in the past few months so there haven't been any new articles or updates lately. But on the other hand, id released something many of us have been waiting for a long time : the Quake 2 source code. And by the way, if you feel like you have something intresting to say about Doom 3 or a related subject, you can still mail me your contributions. Merry fucking Christmas everyone.
11th September 2001 - Tragedy
"The earth starts to rumble
World powers fall
Warring for the heavens
A peaceful man stands tall

...

Just like the Pied Piper
Led rats through the streets
We dance like the marionettes
Swayin' to the symphony of destruction"

-- Dave Mustaine, 1992

7th September 2001 - Quakecon screenshots and video
I've compiled all information (otherwise known as Hoopla) about the recent leaked Doom3 screenshots and videos in an update of my Quakecon article.
31st August 2001 - Bored Doom fan + Photoshop = Something New for y'all
I whipped something up in Photoshop last night. It's supposed to be a magazine ad for Doom 3, and I think came out pretty well. Check it out here.
11th August 2001 - QuakeCon 2001: New id games, new DOOM info
YEAH ! Some very interesting information was revealed at the annual QuakeCon event yesterday. Quake 4 and several other id games announced, a new DOOM movie and a bunch of technical information by John Carmack. I've compiled all available information on this page.
7th July 2001 - New id games ??
It seems a lot of people are getting all worked up about a five-word press release from id last week, saying id is planning to show "new games" at QuakeCon this August. To get the full story and speculations, take a look at this article on 3DActionPlanet. id Software CEO Todd Hollenshead has made a few interesting comments, hinting that a new Quake game, mission pack and/or Game Boy Advance titles are possible. The most interesting though is this quote: "...for the record, the name is definitely not "DOOM III". All this is certainly getting id fans around the world (including me) excited about what may or may not be shown at QuakeCon -- and when that happens, expect plenty about it right here.
1st June 2001 - A year has passed.
Today marks the first year of Doom 3's development. It also marks the 666th visitor to my homepage... coincidence ? Anyway, by request of Fred Nilsson of id Software, I've added Kenneth Scott to that article about id I did last week.
25th May 2001 - New article: The Men Behind Doom 3
Check out the articles section for a look at a few of the people working on Doom 3. By the way, Zaldron's famous article about the technology of Doom 3 is about to get an update. Keep watching this spot.
5th May 2001 - New article: the early days of Doom
For a peek at the early design phase of the original Doom, check out this article I wrote. By examining the Doom Bible and the early alpha versions, I take a look at how Doom evolved from a buggy Wolfenstein clone into the most groundbraking game of the nineties.
3rd May 2001 - New layout
My man Zaldron has cooked up a cool new design for the page, as you can see. I'll probably make some more improvements soon, so keep your eye on this spot. I'm still open for user contributions, if you have anything related to Doom3, mail me. By the way, if you go to the About Me section (or click the 'version' button in the new navbar), you'll see an example of how bumpmaps work.
30th April 2001 - Welcome to Lord FlatHead's Homepage
Hello there. My name is Lord FlatHead and, guess what, this is my Doom 3 homepage. For those who don't know my site, here's a quick rundown of what's on it and what to expect: So that's it, I guess. New sections may pop up as I get more material. The site doesn't have much content yet, so again, send any and all contributions my way. Thanks and enjoy.
