Old News:
2/28/01  Albert Valls did two very fast demos for Panech01 -- TAS maxdemo and a nomonsters speedrun.
Mike Toliver did a maxdemo for the first Invasion map. -- This was the most recent  /oldstuff feature on Doomworld for those who remember that.
Mark Thompson did a maxdemo on Hell Revealed Map01 with a different route than everyone else.
Brad Spencer and I improved the maxdemo record on Memento Mori Map05.
New Opulent demos:
   Hell Revealed --
Skill 1 maxdemo of the entire megawad (without Map32) -- this is a 3 and 1/2 hour demo.
        Skill 4 maxdemo of Map01-10.
        UV maxdemos on Map17, 18, 19, 20, and 30.
        Map02 Speedrun.

New Featured Map: AT by Brad Spencer.

I noticed that Chris Ratcliff is the only player to record demos for all of the HR maps --
in 11:15:13 -- the record times add up to 5:11:19.
Congratulations Chris.

other news:
Kzdoom7 is jaw-droppingly amazing!  You've never seen Doom like this.
(only runs with the Zdoom 1.23 betas)

2/24/01 Alexander Sushkov sent a very fast Mc2001 demo -- hopefully we will see more demos from him.
Ledmeister once again improved his Ttrap maxdemo.
Albert Valls sent a whole bunch of great demos.
   10secto2 -- maxdemos on Map03, 11, 18, and 30.
   Perdition's Gate Map07.
   Panech01 maxdemo.
   3 Omega01 demos
          -fast
'Wheelchaired'-mode based on Ralf's Pdang contest
'Cervantes'-mode - which is mouse-only (no touching the keyboard at all!)
2/18/01 Big news:  Pwads will be featured at the Compet-N.  Go over the NOW and vote for additions to the best demosite on the net.
There are very few gaming sites on the net that require as much maintenance as the Compet-N... and now he's giving himself more work.
At least he knows I'm very interested!  Go give Adam some support...

Albert Valls did the fastest Omega01 demo yet.
Ledmeister improved his already nice Maxdemo for the Master level Ttrap.

New Opulent demos:
Hell Revealed Map12 and 13 max; Map01-08, 10 -fast.  Also a special Map28 demo.
-- There are now over 350 demos for HR available here! -- that is more than 10 / level (obviously).
Flayob01 -- that is the new version of the map.
Swomega -- Tyson and -fast.  This is a very fun (and easy) tyson map.  Sam really knows how to make maps that are fun the whole way through.

2/10/01 Hell Revealed:
Claudio Barba sent another Anders-beater.   = ]   -- Map28 Max was his victim this time. Highly recommended.
I did Map28 Max and -fast and Map22 Max.   The -fast demo has a ghost-Mancubus in it -- which you don't see too often.

Albert Valls finished off the UV max table for Perdition's Gate with a Map12 demo.
I did a really poor Max demo for Dickie01 -- great map though!
Added Wim Vanrie's Rvenge01 map and demo.

other news:
Compet-N contest and Pdang contest still going on.(what are you waiting for...   get over there and join in)
Good walk-through demos are included with all of Metabolist's reviews -- good quality reviews too, reminds me of Team Insanity of old...
If you have Quake3, go get the recent Zero4/Fatality 2x2 Lansanity demos.  I recommend Zero4's perspective for most of the games.
Lastly,  QuakeDoneNaked has a whole slew of amazing cheated Quake demos by many of the top speedrunners.

2/5/01 Very high quality demos this time around.

Hell Revealed -- These are all highly recommended - Great tactics in all of these demos.
Claudio Barba beat an Anders Johnsen record with a very impressive Map28 -fast performance.  (amusing textfile)
   Cameron Prosser did five equally impressive pacifist runs -- Map01, 10 , 21, 24, and 28.

Chris Ratcliff wasn't satisfied with his UV recording of Seej, so he did a great UV -fast recording.
He could've only played it cautiously, but he is pretty daring throughout. Check it out.

Anthony Soto recorded a maxdemo for the challenging Classic Episode map 9.  That end sequence is tricky.   = )
He also did a very fast maxdemo on his Map18 of the 10sector Megawad.

Other news: I think Vrooomer has scared off the competition in the Pdang contest.   = ]
Skulltag ownz joo!

2/3/01 Chris 'Ryback' Ratcliff showed me how to play Seej.wad with a good maxdemo -- It doesn't challenge him at all -- more than 10 minutes faster than my demo.

I did a demoset for Mordeth Episode One -- How did he NOT get a job as a professional level designer after this?!
Without naming names, I will say that all other "professional's" Doom maps completely pale in comparison -- including those who earned a position at id.

1/28/01 Hosted at Doomworld now  (duh)
Thanks to people like YOU who made this possible.  Personal thanks to Linguica, Face.uk, .ac., and Arioch.

Since I have more space, I added a few tools on the info page as well as making a lot of the external pwad links local.
Re-added Uac.  If you find a broken link, please let me know.

New demos:
Donatas Tamonis did a demoset for dfear6 -- but these playback with Dmonfear, so I posted them there.
I don't understand the Yonatan Donner-DfearX demo package playback problems.  I have the original wads, but they still don't play.  hmm....
Don also did a maxdemo for the Ultimate Doom map Elfstomp.
I did a maxdemo for Rajala's fantastic map Painevil.
Albert did a maxdemo for Perdgate Map21.  I did 2 Perdgate demos as well.

Other news:
New contest at Public Dang so get rolling.   = ]

1/23/01 Omega01 --
Arno and Wim improved their runs.  Arno currently beating everyone by a good margin.
Donatas Tamonis, and his quick reflexes,  also did a maxdemo.
Albert Valls did a TAS -nomonsters demo -- this is very well done.

New Opulent demos:
Seej by Dario and Milo Casali -- 895 monsters in the Punisher tradition.
This is what he says in the textfile:
          * Copyright / Permissions *
"Do what ever you want with this level, but I recommend you use it to play doom in." -- hehe
Hell Revealed by Yonatan Donner and Haggay Niv -- Maps 1-10 (sans 9 - but with a bug demo) -- in the.. uh, Hell Revealed tradition.  = ]
   Perdition's Gate -- Maps 27, 28, 31, and 32.

1/21/01 Several new Omega01 demos -- by Opulent / Wim Vanrie / Albert Valls
-- also, Albert proved that you can get trapped in the chaingunguy-switch room.
1/20/01 Arno Slagboom did a great initial Omega01 maxdemo....   you got to see the end of this one!
Albert Valls did two new Perdition's Gate demos -- restructured the page for easier reading -- combined demos into single downloads.
Mike Toliver and I did a some maxdemos on Mike's Doom map, Corridor.

I am rapidly running out of already borrowed web space....   = /

1/19/01 Four new 10sector demos:
Arno Slagboom did a blazing Map02 demo.
Albert Valls sent his Map23 demo for the initial 10sector package.
Wim Vanrie sent the fastest Map01 run yet in :21 seconds...
SlagDoom also did a :21 second Map01 demo.

Albert Valls did a very near-optimized maxdemo for 1fortres as well as a good maxdemo for Vrack.
I did a maxdemo for Kboom_5 -- which is my best demo in a while.
New Featured map -- Omega01 by Tomi Rajala.

other news:
1.27 upsets my world.
Good coops at Compet-N recently.

1/17/01 (2) Update -- Files are now uploaded (Cox@home *cough*) -- Also, forgot to mention the new Vrack speedrun.
1/17/01 10sector demo package is released.
Wim Vanrie / Albert Valls / Arno Slagboom / Brad Spencer / Opulent / Yashar Garibzadeh / Mike Toliver / Ralf Schreivogel / Martin Schultz(in absentia)
34 UV maxdemos and 7 bonus demos.
Map10, 23, 24, and the (2) 29 demos are the highlights (5, 6, 21, and 25 are right behind)... but all of these are worth your time.

Posted most of the rest of the 10sector demos as well.  Total of  57 new 10sector demos!

Mike Toliver did a nice maxdemo on 2besiege -- which I first played soooooo long ago.
New Opulent demos:
    Kurt Kesler Mania!  -- Kboom_4, Kboom_6, Kboom_8, Kboom_10, Kboom_11, and K_bd.

Other news:
There are some new Terrere1 demos at The Mole's site.
Anders Johnsen sent a couple of good demo pages:
1)  Brian Lewis -- Australian Coop page that has some cooperative demos on mostly just Mike Reed's maps.
2)  Rich Sham -- An old demo contest on his Immortal megawad.  Definitely on par with the demos on the DSDA.
