Old News:
11/30/00 Albert and I did maxdemos on Adam's cruelty-in-a-map level 32 of the 10secto2 megawad.
Wim Vanrie nicely provided a -nomonsters demo for Map11 of the first 10sector megawad; as well as a 100%secrets nomo run on Map24.
Sam Woodman generously sent Vincent Catalaa's Swblstcs maxdemo.   thanks, Sam.
I did a maxdemo for Gemini's Gem01 deathmatch level; and improved my Hr2 Map32 Skill 3 demo.
More demos from Martin Schultz's page:
   Hr2 Map01, Hr2 Map02, Legdoom Map04, and Memento Mori2 Map24.
11/26/00 Doom DemoGod Adam Hegyi sent a HR2 TAS speedrun.
Yonatan Donner did a superfast (what else?) Max demo for 10sector Map01.
Albert Valls sent yet another nearly optimized demo -- this time Subspace was his victim.
I recorded 29 of 32 -nomonsters runs for 10sector as well.
These are meant to encourage other players to record demos for the 10sectors megawad.
11/23/00  Martin Schultz did some great UV max demos for HR2beta.
Newcomer to the DSDA, Cameron Prosser has an impressive debut TAS demo for Hr2 Map32.
This prompted me to try my hand at that map...  with very average results.
Some Hr2 maps are normal (ie. Plutonia difficulty), but others are insane.
Brad Spencer was kind enough to share his max demo on AT. Thanks, Brad.
Brad told me that he was trying to record a competitive Hrb demo, so I did some slow maxdemos for both levels.
I also extracted 2 max demos for Legdoom from Martin's page .

I didn't realize that the non-GPL versions of Boom had been removed from ftp.cdrom.com.
There are several demos on this site that require Boom2.01 to view... only one, AFAIK, requires Boom2.00.
I have posted Boom2.01 and DosDoom.47 on the info page.
There are current contests at the Compet-N and Pdang.
Lastly, the 10sectors wad is fantastic.  However, there are problems with maps 11, 16, and 31.

11/18/00  Albert recorded a good maxdemo for Brad Spencer's AT Doom level.
Albert and I did some more Demon Fear demos.  Very short entertaining maps.
I recorded a skill 3 Chord3 demo -- just because there should be a demo for that map.
Also, while recording it, I got a Boom error that I hadn't seen before; an Archvile resurrected a Cacodemon halfway inside a wall.
11/17/00 Andy Olivera very generously sent me DOSDoom .47.  THANKS, man.
This is really hard to believe, but his Yaotzin demo will only sometimes playback correctly.  That is just weird.  Has to be a Dosdoom error.
I did a bunch of demos for Ballistics and Dmonfear.
11/16/00 Brad Spencer did a maxdemo of Swblstcs(Sdw_ballistics) -- a little slower than mine, but a little better.
Albert Valls did a very fast maxdemo of Simply.
I replaced the Yab and Darkeden demos as promised.  They now are compatible for the latest versions of the maps.
Andy Olivera did a review and demo of Yaotzin.
It requires DosDoom.47; I don't have that anymore and it is NOWHERE on the net.
DosDoom.653 crashes when I tried to play it back...
Also, Doomshack came back to life for like 24 hours... let's hope it sees sunlight again.
11/13/00 Mike Toliver did a maxdemo for the very large Satan666.  The demo gets better and better as it goes. He gets downright reckless towards the end.  = ]

Albert brought up a point about desyncing demos due to bad wad resources.
Requiem Map21, Yaotzin, Dmonfear Map18 are 3 maps that require a RMB'd level to be able to playback demos.
Moral to this story:  Wad authors should RMB their levels if they are detailed at all.

One last thing for demo watchers: The new PrBoom is the only Doom engine that is a true win32 program.
What I mean is: It allows you to alt-tab during a demo, and when you go back to it 5 minutes later, it is 5 minutes later in the demo!  YEAH!
Finally Doom demo multi-tasking.

11/12/00 Vrooomer sent 2 amazing demos for Adam Windsor's Deadmen map.  These are rare 'must see' demos for this site.
Mike sent a good maxdemo for Satan -- the Doom(1) map, not the Lord of the Underworld.
His time was 13:13 on a level called Satan -- oooh, spooky.   = ]
I started filling the tables on DemonFear.(It's an Adam Windsor day, I guess)  Fun, challenging, short maps.  What a GAME should be.
I also did a maxdemo of the entire Darkening2 episode.  It is not worth viewing, but it is a fair challenge.  It's 145 minutes long by the way...
Patrick Martin -- the great wad designer and demo runner -- has uploaded new versions of his maps to ftp.cdrom.com.
I am in the process of re-recording my 2 demos for Yab and Darkeden, but I have uploaded the previous version of Blakgate so Rudy's great demo is still functional.
11/07/00 Okay.    I have finished with the deathmatch pages for now.
(unless a high quality player sends me/posts something)
Once I get a chance to, I will watch the demos at Bahdko's site.
As of now, we have seperate demos -- very little overlap.
So don't miss his site...

Also, Albert couldn't bare having me beating his Flayobsc -nomonsters run; so he sent a very fast, and optimized(short of AdamH./Sedlic/AdamW.) demo.

11/05/00 Darkening2 Collection Released.

Wim Vanrie, Brad Spencer, Martin Schultz, and I did Max demos for all 12 levels.
check it out. (as well as other new demos on the Darkening2 page)

Other news:
Mike Toliver sent a maxdemo for Scc2 -- the Doom version.
Added some Terrere1 demos and Gemini's T2 demo.
I did a maxdemo for Yab.
I wanted to thank everyone for being really great about adding textfile with the demos, etc...
I believe I am the only one who hasn't so far.     = /
And, if anyone does NOT want their demos posted on this site, just let me know and I will promptly remove them.
New contests at Compet-N and Pdang. -- I personally have no clue on a good run for the Compet-N contest...

11/03/00 Albert and I did some -nomonsters speedruns on Flay the Obscene.
11/02/00 Oh Lord, what have I done.
Yesterday everything seemed fine with the dm page.
Now, there are so many unresolvable issues.
I have about 40 MB of dm demos... probably 20 MB of those could go up.  I don't  have that space.
Compounded by the fact that I have no way of obtaining more detailed info on the demos themselves.
Not sure what to do about it...  I think I will probably just become very critical of the demos; in order to cut down on the number.
There was one HUGE positive and completely unexpected event that happened:

http://www.doom2.net/ -- which is run by the Professional Doom Deathmatch player Bahdko.

Also, Albert sent a Max Reality demo for Flayobsc.   Reality demos are rare, so go watch it.
Wim sent a good Max demo, too.  If he had taken Albert's route, ....
and I did a UV -fast demo.

11/01/00 Started the Deathmatch demo page.
It is very unlikely I will accept demos for this page.
It is not an archive, but special demos.  I will try to post ALL of the highest quality dm demos I find.
However, many Compet-N players have recorded games recently, I think that would be too many to post.
Radek, Clan ZAP, Clan NM, Anders, Henning, Ralf, Arno, Marko, Zamel, Doomaniax, and Valls have lots dm demos available.
Many of these would probably make the page... so keep an eye out for near-future updates if dm demos are your thing.

Single-Player action:
Mike Toliver did demos for Acheron, Ander, and Ander2.
Albert Valls sent two excellent demos for Demon Fear.  Highly recommended.
Albert also sent a demo for Flayobsc that is nearly optimized.  But don't be scared away, it's a fun map to play.
Speaking of FUN maps, I recorded a max demo for Ballistics.
Added Wim's max demo of his Terrere1 level -- now that it is at a stable location at ftp.cdrom.com.
