Well, I finally got goin with a cool beginning of the Story to Necromancer. It's including Gods and magic and universes and other really cool stuff. :p
Nimrod is starting to speed up again. I'm still very off when it comes to making levels somehow it's just not going very fast for me.
I'm playing with the new 3d water aswell and I've ran into a few minor problems, atleast i think I have. I'm currently working on Map12 and it'll be a rather short but heavy map I'm sure I'll be able to blow most people away with atleast the ending.
Well. that's about all I got to say now. it's new years eave and I don't feel like partying. I dunno why I'm just so tired and bored. Think I'll go out later but I'm not sure.

No that's not right. It's Screenshot paradise.
I got a sudden urge to upload screenshots after the crucified dreams comment thread with Nick and Maonth.
Crucified Dreams are looking fine from where I'm sitting and I'm eager to play it when AG finally got his detail frenzy settled and released that behemoth for all the slow computers in the community.
Anyway to look at the new shots wich show off alot more than anything we've released before of Nimrod just click the latest screenshot link in the horiz minimenu.

Yay I found a new topic in our Forum today. :p
I've noticed that my computer is extremely fast and most everything I make these days are dragging most others behind. Atleast from what I've heard from Tarin Jon SoM and some more. Wich is a pity. Bah nevermind that now.
I've had ALOT of very positive responce for my 10 sector map (Megawad 1 Map17: Lord Of The Flies). One was that it was one of the best maps in the wad with awesome gameplay etc (I think he's favs was Mine, Aquaduct and Gas Panic) Even Team Insanity's review mentioned it as one of wich he liked specially. :p /me likes to recive positive responce.
That's pretty cool, remembre last year when everyone told me I sucked ass.
On Nimrod on the other hand. I have a confession to make.
I haven't worked on my Nimrod maps for atleast two weeks.
I cant seem to get my shit together. I've been working some on this map for Plutonia 2 wich will be map02. But it's going rather slow atm. Luckily I've been doing other stuff. Like I'm working a bit on making an AVI wich will show off Map03 and Map08 of Nimrod. Not much of them though. They're far to big for that. Maybe 2-5% of them.
But it's a butt stupid program I'm using. But I'm not gonna search the web just to make a little demo flic.
SoM told be that the 3d floors in Legacy take up alot of memory and that me and Sam gotta cool it down a bit. Kurt Kesler told me that the EDGE floors in fact was faster, but that's BS. I've never been slowed down by the 3d floors in Legacy while the EDGE 3d floors slowed me down at a place in QDoom test. :p
Bah. I've run out of shit to say.

Progress on Nimrod have picked up a bit. Although Sasha "The Prophet" Müller quit cause of really good reasons. I think I won't spread it. If he wanna tell you all about it he'll probably will update his page about it. www.theprophet.de/doom
But I wouldn't count on it. I'm gonna ask him to send whatever he done and if it's big enough maybe I'll finish it or I'll have someone else finish it. If not then I guess his map won't be featured in Nimrod. :( But I think I know of one whom i can ask for something like this.
On another note:
Nimrod will totally BLOW YOU AWAY. I received Map04 with scripts from SoM, it's not finished yet cause I had forgot to tell him all and such but the scripts that are there are so fucking cool. I've restarted the map over and over again just to do the script sequence. :p
I got another beta of Legacy from SoM so I could run the script. It shall also feature some cool new edeting features wich I gotta see where I can add them. If there's no places it fit in I'll just add places wich it'll fit in.
Carnevil is also doing some help with Nimrod. Don't worry it's higly unbeleivable that it'll distract time from ST. I'm gonna keep that a secret though. Cause I want it to be a seuprice when it's finished.

Sam who has made alot of good for Nimrod already have sent me a alpha version of his map and two new midis. Well, what can I say... it's all top quality. SoM said it was using a bit to many 3d floors to run smooth. But when I put monsters on my maps and so I doubt Sams map will be looking like the bad guy when it comes down to speed. Besides lower the resolution if it's to much for you can. It do wonders you know. :)
I also got to look at a map Oniko is somewhat working on for Nimrod. It's looking cool so far. Told him to add more rubble to the rocks, he's out of inspirations though.
On my map front I'm getting there. It's some additions to some maps and they'll be ready. then I can start to take on the final map where you'll meath Mohammad Ali among bosses and stuff.
Trust me Nimrod will blow you away.
Unless youre a disgrunteled old Doomer and everything but MM and the likes suck ass to you. But then again. what would you be doing here if that was the case :p
Me and SoM is also working a bit on Necromancer. He's doing more actual work than me but I'm not very useful to it yet so ;) Seem like we both have the same goal for Necromancer and that is good. Necromancer will hopefully be all we ever would want. But you know how stuff fall out of the production. If you read the doom bible you'll know what I mean.

29, November, 2000 - You know ... stuff.
I noticed that the Darkmatch levels I released got some flaws. Like one of them got two blue keys as a result of me modifying the cfg files for deth when making it Nimrod compatible. and some minor flaws in the second map. Need more detail. Was gonna add some street light kinda things, but decided it wasn't worht the bother. Just two DM maps I put together about 6 moths ago.
Anyway.
I've started on a map for Sam Woodmans Plutonia 2 project. Map02 as a matter of fact. I think it's looking good so far, just one flaw. It's supposed to use the damn vanilla doom2, and I get visplane overflows if I turn to the left and take a step back at startup.
Well that's life I guess.

Stuff is going great. Haven't heard from all the team members yet though. would be good to hear from them verifying that they downloaded the new beta, and for the beta testers. Ok gimme yer verdict. What do ya thing about the sweet and cool stuff in map01?

I'm working on the final section of Map08. It's quite different from the rest of the map wich is pretty cool. it's also a very big area wich may get pretty popular to visit in DM, unless it'll slow your computer down to a crawl.

Ok, I'm kinda hyped by the new The Offspring album wich is extremely... awesome. So forgive all those damn quotes.

Sam Woodman mailed me and said he didn't like map05 cause it's quite... undetailed, and all. Well I tend to agree. It's a old map. I was inspired by Final Doom TNT: Evilotion map Stronghold when I made it. I know it probably don't show but that's how I make maps. I'm inspired but it don't show.

I added a little detail to a place in Map03 wich has bugged me for a while now with it's absence of sweet detail. Not done yet but I'm getting there. already looks alot better.

This will make updating the page news a breeze.

The beta is now off and Cocoon was supriced cause he thought I had forgot about him. I understand him though. It took longer than I thought to get it out.
We've had a little problem with the windows version of Legacy and scripts in Nimrod but they shall be fixed soon¨. I'm talking to Hurdler and all so it should be no problems.
Oh. I think he fixed it now...

November 10th, 2000 - Beta Radiation.
OINTMENT
Hm well I'm gonna spend the day to prepare the new Beta to be released to the team. Specially Cocoon and Sam Woodman who never even seen a eariler one.
The Map08 is almost complete. I got very little left on this map. Funny though. It should have been done months ago. But for some reason it became very big eventhough it was intended to be small. I exeded 900 sectors on it yesterday. Well. Most of my maps are close to be done. all but one wich I haven't started on yet. (guess wich, MWUAHAHAHAHA)
Map04 was ready for scripting. But now I'll have to remove a little something or my new ideas for the script won't be fit. But it'll sure be 1337. Explosives and shit.
I've updated the Nimrod and Info sections a bit. So now the right information is available. I've also fixed links to some of the files we offer for download, the others I'll have to upload again. I was alos thinking of updating the screenshots of Nimrod but since I won't release any new I let the ones from Kristian Aro's now defunkt map stay up. Atleast they show some cool textures.
If the Leveldesigners work on and we don't run into any complications we could expect Nimrod not to far into the future.
BTW I finally made a new titelpic. It's the 3rd or 4th and it finally is some that I'm content with. No more big pic of Nimrod battling his ass off on the titel. looked to "not nimrod". Nimrod is pretty dark in it's atmosphear so I made something that fit for it better. Bah what the hell am I saying. It fits like a glove it's the perfect titelpic. I was intentionally gonna use my own graphic for it but I ripped a little pic from something most of you will recognize. But that's ok really. No point in making the same pic when I already got a perfectly good one to copy that even the great Ola Björling have used.
Anyway, you'll love it. It's so sweet.

Anyway I told him that he was welcome in all ways he wanted and now I have to upload a Nimrod beta earlier than I had planned ;)

People have been hassling me about screenshots from Nimrod. But I hate to make screenshots. You play the extremely eerie and really atmosphearic map with it's sounds and music and then make it a screenshot and it suddenly is very much less cool. So unless I got something to show I won't take anymore.
I've been fooling around with Quake3 radiant editor. IE Id's own q3 map maker. It's pretty simple really. If you aren't common to vireframes it may be a bit complex after a while when the maps grow but you got a 3d window where you see it all happen. :) Kinda like in Build for duke3d.

Necromancer. Yeah. Ph33r.
Necromancer is the project me and SoM are currently planning. It was started first a few years ago and then restared from scratch last year but now again we have cleard the sheats of paper and been thinking it out the last few months. Necromancer is just planned like what Rendering we should use etc. BSP or Octree and so on. Anyway. As soon as Nimrod is released I will completely bury myself into Necromancer. Aaaaah. It'll be extremely much fun to create, and hopefully even more fun to play.
Anyway, there's the old Necromancer section up but you can forget everything that's said there.
Ok back to this Doom shit.
Nimrod is actually not that far away. Atleast I don't think so. All the new weapons are done. 7 as complete. the ones we don't use are chainsaw and SSG. Reason. we don't need them. Plus I don't wanna make them. Maps are getting finished. So is graphics and sounds. Once all maps are done and all there'll be very close to done.

I'm sitting here listening to NOFX and making Doom stuff taking brakes playing Skulltag.
Played team with Orion agains Ultimus and xxenemyxx. We kicked their asses. Me and Orion had the same frag count sometimes he were in the lead sometimes I were. Ultimus and xxenemyxx had the same frags as us, just, about -20 hahaha.
BTW did I mention we kicked their asses?
Map04 is soooo close to be finished. Map08 is also pretty close an so is Map10. Aaaaaah. nice. I'll be kicking Map07 to the vultures. Noone need it. It's to undetailed and to big to detail now. Weird though, 500+ sectors shouldn't be that undetailed. When I made it a few years ago it was nice, not now though.
I blame the old editor I used. it was easy to use and all that but it wasn't very good to use if you wanted to make detail. Actually it wasn't very good at all to make detail with.
More cool stuff. SoM sent me Map01 few days ago. Fully scripted. Now I'm making some texture fixes to it. It's a bit err. Bad at some places.
Richie "Skarj" Gay told me he had got the textures working in Wadauthor now so I could expect some sweet shit from him in the near future. :))
Hmm. well I'm making some other stuff to but I'll keep quiet about it for now. May not be used and so. anyway.
BTW SoM is making som really sweet shit for Nimrod. Damn bitch. I'll be very much extremely cool.
Hmm One more thing. The 3D floors. Wheeee. They rule, anyway. I noticed how I've grown used to them. In the beginning I only added them on places where I was using the zDoom way to make 3d bridges and on places I thought. Dammit i gotta use the 3d floors, so I would make a barr from one wall to the other just cause I had them. Now I'm pretty much using them well all over, it looks great and I can make cooler detail in the ceiling wich alow me to make detailed places w/o making stuff to get stuck in in DM. Lucky for you they're not as the EDGE floors. ;)

Damn that constructive pause was really constructive. I'm back to edeting. Now I'm once again keeping 4 different maps in the edeting loop. 3 for nimrod and 1 for something awful (erm wonderful I mean).

You know I'd mention it. Well sweet shit is going on it seem. 10 sweetass maps have been picked out by Dixon as be specially Kickass so far. Hope the rest comes along soon. and we'll have the fastest made Megawad ever.
I sure hope one of those maps are mine. I've gotten very good comments on it from people who played it. Actually I was supriced on how much people liked the architecture. Hoefully people will figure it out and like the gameplay equally as much. I sure liked it anyway.
In case people don't like my map as much as I hope, well then I've payed one of the judges to give it great points ;).

Yeah that's right. Read that review of Only the Strong over at The Doomers Resess? Yeah that's a kickass Map, I know. Sascha "The Prophet" Müller made it. He's also making this kickass map for Nimrod currently called "A Map" ;)

I'm taking a little constructive paus in Doom Level edeting. I've been exausted by all the work I've had for the last 2.5 months. (The kinda work were you get payed) I've been working everyday for weeks in a row. Like out of 8 nights I was working 6, that's including a weekend. That's not good. Well that's over now and I can relax :)
Anyway. the thing is I've been disencouraged to make any maps. I want to make maps and I got a few cool ideas going but I just to tired. Dammit. Maybe I'll shove a screenshot in your faces to compensate. ;)
I've bought a scanner aswell. Cool now I can send my Sketches to Steven so he can tell me theyre not good enough ;) Well. heh. yeah.
BTW Legacy 3-D floors look sweet as hell. and for you who are afraid it'll be as much a slowdown as EDGE's floors I can tell you, nothing to worry about. EDGE use the GL bsp tree. Legacy got the same ol shit it's always had before. :). In other words. No sweat.
10 sectors: Yeah it's over and all. and I still can't stop talking about it. Hmm I wonder who wins. It wouldn't hurt if I won. I know of someone who could have use for that card. (not me)
