Following a small discussion in another thread, IMO it's a good idea for everyone to post here the names of any new textures and flats you're using, in order to avoid conflicts between mappers (heh) and make it easier for Cadman (it might also lead to texture sharing if everyone puts a description with the name). Here's mine:

Textures:

BRICK13-19 (Plutonia bricks)
WFALL1-4 (Plutonia waterfall)
NUMBERS (in red, green and blue, but no 0)

Flats:

CONS1_3 (missing floor console)

I think it'd be best to start your textures with your map number, i.e. 01BLABLA would be a texture for map01, 16LOLOLO would be a texture for map16 etc.

What about the doom1 textures? Cant they be put in as their original names? If at all...

I'm using WFALL1-4 as well.

I have a texture that is a GRASS1 flat, but in texture size. I called it GRASSWLL.

And the texture of just vines (brown) from Plutonia (I think).


I thought about making a thread like this many times, but I didn't.

I used 'PLCC' at the beginning of all my new texture names. Don't think anybody will use that with their textures.

They can yes, as we all know what names they have (and anyone using custom names for a DooM 1 texture/flat fails it), it's more the ones from other sources (Plutonia, Heretic, Hexen etc.) where the names are less well-known, and new ones that need the names clarifying. Boris' suggestion was a good one (even though I didn't follow it), but it looks like we're gonna get a resource wad now, so it might not matter as much. (but having said that, given the frequency of Cadman's appearances, it might be better to continue posting here and/or use Boris' method)

Thats a very good idea actually. That way no one can accidentally make the same texture name. Good stuff.

Well if we all use numbers in the start of our textures then I guess theres no reason to have this thread then, hehe.
