Okay, what does everyone think about using custom scenery in this? Obviously there'd need to be a naming system for these, as there could be quite a lot of them. (something like xx001 etc. where xx is map number)

I think people should be able to use as much custom scenery as they deem necessary. I agree with the naming convention, maybe have initials or a couple of letters at the start of the names. I was considering using ZB at the start of mine.

you'd also need to assign a range of doomednums for each person so there are no conflicts; like ##000 - ##999 where ## is your map number. Once that's out of the way there's no reason not to allow this since it's purely optional for the mappers.

I'll go for it, if for no other reason than to use the Comfy Chairs from the Doom Alpha.

Just have everyone who makes custom sprites/objects name the first 3 doom letters after their name and a number. For example, anything I made for CC3 would start with

SCB1
SCB2
SCB3
...

and so on.

PS. Damn you Cyb1!

Doom's scenery items suck so badly that anything else is like a breath of fresh air.

^ *agreement*

I don't see why we shouldn't include new scenery. Maybe make a common items set (trees, chairs, etc) so we don't duplicate essentially the same type of objects.

My map is going to require alot of custom decorated scenery, so I think something needs to be formalized so I know what to name everything.

Alright, so we'd be able to use decorate scenery. What about custom sounds?
