Cancelled by Ling nearly a year ago when only a handful of people demonstrated that they had made any progress by a stated progress-point ("milestone") deadline.

Some people apparently continuing with their maps, but no sign of anyone coordinating or taking control of the project.

I think that's a fair summary.

From what I can tell, it went to shit when people started trying to add all sorts of crazy zDoom shit (Custom monsters, etc), and there was no way to coordinate it all. Plus custom monsters suck.

The map I started to make for this project has turned into a project of my own, so even if this does get resurrected I probably wouldn't be contributing.

i don't mind custom monsters mostly because it is different. in fact i have a monster of my own that i invented, but i think i will keep it in my story.

There's no need for custom monsters. Custom effects (ie resurrectors), not monsters.

I still hsve my map that I made for this project some damn where...Its not complete..Manily cause this project died. But I am willing to conribute it if this project should ever get re-spawned.

Hell if I where good enough (good enough as in cordinating a project as big as this) I would pick the project up..But Im not to sure I could keep up with everything. But then again who knows how many people would be envoled with it.

Well if no one objects..I will give it a shot then...First off we got to figure whos in and whos not. Find out what map slots need to be filled. But theres no rush. Considering the project has been dead for quite awhile. WE can start slow for awhile and see what happens. Im useing a new editor. Doombuilder. It didn't take me too long to figure it out. But Im no expert. I used to use Edmap..But since I upgraded to Windows XP..No DOS. But anyway. Let me know what you all think and maybe we can go ahead and Re-spawn CC3!

Well, good luck. I think you'll do a fine job.

While the past two Cchests had 32 maps each, if not enough people partcipate, it could always be less maps. Especially if it's for zdoom, as you can tell the game to end after a certain map instead of needing to cover all the original maps.

I don't know if I'll be contributing anything though. All my mapping desires get used up on other things right now. If I somehow get an idea for a map that doesn't fit my current maps, maybe I'll do something.

Ok cool. Yea I was thinking about the possibilty of not haveing 32 maps manily cause not enough people in the project. But I have never done a Zdoom project. So things like haveing the game end before map 30 I will need help with. So I hope I can count on some guidence from people who know more about Zdoom then I do. :P But I am a quick study so it shouldn't take me too long to learn.

i do not yet have zdoom, if it is required for this project i'll get it ASAP. i have a map in the works but i am not very far into it so it might be awhile before it is complete becuase of minor and recent set-backs. i shall complete it as soon as i can.
