This is merely my thread where I ask for suggestions.
First of all

I am not totally sure of how I am going to occupy that colossal throne hall.

Now you can take in the 'sheer size' of my level.
I cannot give a definite percentage due to the 'new' blue key areas.
But I am getting close to done though!
Oh yes, I am making it quite harder to get the BFG than in the original map28.

Monsters.
I am thinking of a Cyberdemon (look at the size of the chair) and some barons or hell knights as .. bait. They should teleport in once you step on the chair.
But, I could also just teleport in :
* A bunch of Barons/Knights
* A Cyberdemon
EDIT
Overall comments though would be more helpful.

I like those screens!! Good work :)

As for monsters...All I can really say make sure you remember that you have map 5. Some might consider that abit earily to see a cyberdemon..

But..

Then again this is just a Community project with no set theme or anything, so it could be fine to have a cybie earily on too...

Bottom line it's your call....

Don't forget that it is a MAP28 tribute... You can see some resemblance to the original in the screenshots. I found some terrible clashing in the original and that became my inspiration to make everything seem to fit with everything else.
Unfortunately, with my 'detail' and avoidance of dooms auto contrast on horizontal and vertical lines causes slime trails here and there.
EDIT
Oh yes! MAP08 not only had some nasty traps but also had a cyberdemon in a room with plenty of barons too!

Let me be clear: I said other people might think its abit earily...Me personaly I think it would be just fine.

It gives you green armor, chainsaw, shotgun (and if on one of the 2 easy diff. levels, chaingun) at the beginning. Whether I put a little space base before you teleport into the level depends on my time frame.

maybe a cyberdemon could come down in a huge lift infront of the chair as you approches, a small pieace of script some trumpet fanfare... hehe no i dunno, a cyberdemon sounds about right though, maybe with a hint of Barons

EDIT: Allthough i alwas like seeing lowlevel monsters next to a cyb, makes you understand the hugeness that is cyb

Is it safe to assume that we'll be hearing the same music as in the original MAP28 (D_TENSE, renamed to D_DOOM for your map slot) when we play this level?

Also, nice work there, man! Sandy Petersen's level designs were rather, uh, funky, to say the least, so to see someone make sense out of them is cool. Keep it up!

Yes. It *may* be altered though depending on if I get that bored or if I get random inspiration.
I don't know anyone who finds lava as a comfortable alternative for leather in their furniture.
Now the lava is sticky and extra dangerous!
Even though I liked D_TENSE better than MAP28, so I guess this is actually a tribute to the music by me making a better version of MAP28 to go with it.
There are plenty of secrets and also plenty of traps in the level.
EDIT
I have a name for the map
MAP05 "Living Hell"
EDIT

Before I can post a beta, I need a web hosting service.

The MAP04 music is in the lump D_BETWEE. As implied before, the MAP05 music is in D_DOOM.

Yes it is bland. Only because when you press that switch out of sight in the screenshot, the room changes...
for the worse.

EDIT
I posted this picture because this was the last section that I wanted to do. I had the BFG locked behind a blue skull door, so I needed to put the blue key somewhere. And in this trap filled room it is.
