Two tentative names for this map are "Waste Away" and "Dancing into the Sun." Anyway, some shots at 1% completion:

There will be more detail, etc. I am pretty much done experimenting with HR style gameplay (all my attempts were dismal failures), so its back to tighter combat.

Those are some nice screens, Dr. Zin. :)

Though, IMO, I don't quite like the instant change from brown bricks to grey bricks in the second shot. I think it would look a bit better if there was some kind of metal texture (or whatever else you see fit.) just under the light to show a transition between the brown and grey bricks. Just my opinion.

That is just a trick of persepective. There actually is a metal border there, you just can't see it from that angle.

Ah, I see, that looks good. I assume the other side is like that as well? I can't exactly tell if the other side is like the first side or not.

The other side is different because the two linedefs are coming together at an angle that makes a texture change look natural.

Cool name, though from it I expected some blue palette for this level, under a voidish night sky. Looks like a Hell/medieval level to me, though its name also reminds me of Descent's last missions... I hope the gameplay is difficult in accordance with its place in the megawad. I really want so.

The title is more along the lines of the Greek Charon, the deity who rowed the dead across the Styx into the underworld - Not the frozen moon of Pluto (though that could be a cool map too). And I am trying to make this map fairly difficult, though if it will meet up to the expectations of Belial and the like I don't know.

OK, the map I posted stuff for above is most likely not going to be my entry for CC3. First, it is ballooning to huge proportions, and probably won't be done in time. Second, the layout and pacing is really quirky; it definitely wouldn't fit well in a megawad. I think it would irritate players and other the contributors. I am saving it, as it would fit well in the mini-episode I have been building for the last 3(!) years.

I think I am going to start fresh, and make a shorter, more straightforward piece.

Looks somewhat Plutonia-ish (in a good way). I like the new look so far! Tastefully simplistic/minimalistic, but still nice, and looks great for gameplay!
