I have not really started work on this map yet and I know I really need to get cracking so I have a theme I would like to use. I have some work done using this theme "Green theme" but would like to make a full level based on it. Anyways here is a conceptual screen shot of the theme.

Inspiring shots. The green makes it look interesting. Now it only needs more green torches :)

Imo you should keep the green look.

Thanks for the opinion I really like these kind of maps and have only seen really one in DVII as well as the first part of AV. If anyone wants the texture resource let me know and I will post it up. As for the green torches those screen shots are not the actual level rather just a concept so I would expect there to be hordes of torches.

It would also be cool to throw in some nukage pools in a dark area. For some reason I always liked dark levels. The green is definantly cool.

I do have some animated nukage flats as well as some animated textures I'm assuming it shouldn't be much of a problem to put these in by updating the CC4SWANI entry so it looks like I will have have to get all my resources in quickly to get the texture pack updated.

Is this all this coloring done from simple textures or is there something else? I havent seen a map this verdant since the affectionaly and aptly nicknamed "Green map" from DVII

It's been a while since I have updated but yes I am still active and have my map 95 percent mapped out all that will be left is the choreography/thing placements.

It's been a while since I last updated but there has been a lot of of work done since. I decided to add a lot more to my level with the seglimit change so it's going to take longer than what I expected to finish. I've just started doing thing placement the choreography so I thought I would post some screens of the level.

Still a few more things to do architectural wise but I'm fairly pleased how this level is turning out hope you guys enjoy it as it will be a lot different style of map than what I would think most people are used to.

Looks pretty good. My only suggestion is that you throw in some black or dark grey to offset that Green, kind of like in Necromantic Thirst.

Also, I don't think the chosen sky matches very well.

Im pretty sure half those sidedefs went into making those numbers in the description. Sheesh :P

That said, this map seems very Deus Vult inspired, architecturally as well as in terms of textures (Not to even mention the idea of an all green night time map). I can only hope it plays half as well as it looks.

Got a name for this sucker yet?

It's been a while since I updated to be honest I have been quite busy real life so I have not gotten as much done as I thought I would have. As it stands now I'm 95% done with this level thing placement traps etc is all that remains.

I think It'd be cool if the secrets had a tech theme, to contrast from the natural green, but it's your decision.

Ok, status update.

Architecture 99.9% - Minor fixes here and there
Choreographing 95% - Just a few more monsters to add
Item Placement 50% - Need to put in weapons, ammo and set up skill
Testing 50% - Choreography works from beginning to end with no known
bugs, multiplayer testing and game play testing to commence once item placement is done
Completion time - No idea once everything is satisfactory

Level Stats:

Sectors: 5032
Linedefs: 34290
Sidedefs: 62233

I put a lot of time into this map, a lot more than any map I've ever made and have gone over a lot of the areas many times revising them. I'm just happy now that I'm pretty much done this map but still plan to probably create some new textures and re-texture some parts of it.

I keep getting pissed when I get into my maps and delete them. I dont even know why, I just look at them badly for some reason. Then play them and they seem fine.

Oh well, I cant wait (at the same time I can) for this thing to be finished. It all looks assmazing so far.
This map in particular. @OP, how can I change the color of rooms or sectors like you did?
