"#1: For some reason, movie sites all over the net keep saying that it will be released 2002.. he are THREE examples:"
Fine, good, some real links after DAYS of asking for them.
"http://www.countingdown.com/movies/doom/movieinfo/ << From one of the most popular movie sites."
So we have a page made for a Doom movie, with absolutely NO information about the movie, with NO details on a cast or a script, or anything other than a name...
http://www.countingdown.com/movies/ looks to have a list of all the movies they're tracking, and Doom is not on there. I see a Duke Nukem movie on there... I see a Resident Evil movie on there... but no Doom movie. Why would they NOT put a link to a movie in production? Seems to me that they created the page for a Doom movie on the off chance that one would be made.
"http://www.hollywood.com/movies/detail/movie/378087 << FROM HOLLYWOOD THEMSELVES FOR CRIPE SAKE!"
Hahahha, sorry to break this to you, but Hollywood.com isn't some sort of megasite that's run by the entire Hollywood community or something. It's a website which happens to have the Hollywood.com domain name. Anyways, let's see... "A marine battles various demons and monsters as he tries to escape from a labyrinthine military base. 91 minutes." Alright. Again, no mention of what company is making it, or anyone involved with it, but OK.
"http://www.darkhorizons.com/2002/02indxa1.htm << From Dark Horizons .. THEMSELVES, scroll down lazy ass."
Let's see what we have here. "Based on the computer game. A distress call from an installation on Mars signals a terrifying enemy has taken control and will soon find a way to reach Earth. A group of tough space marines land on the planet to contain and annihilate the threat, but are overwhelmed." Wait a minute, a group of marines? The last page said "a" marine. Land on the planet to fight the hellspawn? The last page just talked about escaping from a base. Why don't these plot synopses match one another?
"Now why would these top rate movie sites keep info like that on there?"
What info? Those pages say next to NOTHING about a Doom movie.
"And where did they get that idea??"
Because the idea of a Doom movie HAS been tossed around in the past.
"Whoo, twilight zone now.. Yep, and Hollywood too, they just love to keep fake titles lying around.."
You don't think Hollywood buys rights to things and them never uses them? Or starts production on a movie and then stops? OR... HOLY SHIT! LOOK AT http://www.hollywood.com/movies/detail/movie/378997!!! THEY'RE MAKING ANOTHER SUPERMAN MOVIE! IT'S GOING TO BE 84 MINUTES LONG, AND... wait, they mention two separate directors, and no one in the role of Superman, and two different people considered for Braniac. Oh wait, that's right, they haven't STARTED MAKING SUCH A MOVIE yet, and all that information is SPECULATION.
"I got the budget from here http://members.aol.com/se7thson/fly3.html But this is also old news and may be incorrect."
ROFL, that's from the Abode of the Superfly. I remember him. Anyways, to think this news has ANY shred of truth in it can be quenched by reading the last sentence: "The gang at TriStar are anticipating a July 2, 1999 release -- which would place it opposite Fox's X-Men picture." Wow, 7/2/99? That movie is pretty late, and it's a wonder no one has even heard of it.
"www.doomthemovie.com << Why is this site registered? Ok, so I go to the whois directory to find out.. I fond out it has been purchased by John Frank Rosenblum, who has been help Ethos with Doom.. "
www.planetvanillaice.com << Why is this site registered? Gamespy Industries must know about some sort of Vanilla Ice comeback that no one else does! A VANILLA ICE COMEBACK, WOW! Or maybe they just registered it during the dotcom boom to make sure no one else did. Could the doomthemovie.com domain be the same?
"There you have it. MOST, not all, but most of my sources that led me to my conclusion, now go fuck off."
Why not give us all your sources? Are you trying to hold something back from us?
"Oh, by the way Linguica, Your Film source is HORRIBLY incorrect. You only got ONE result? Whatever happened to these "DOOM" titles : Indiana Jones and the Temple of DOOM, The DOOM generation, Rhode Island Smith and the Theme Park of DOOM, DOOM Asylum, Point DOOM, Edge of DOOM, The Architecture of DOOM, Magnet of DOOM, How It Was With DOOMs, Omega DOOM, Ship of DOOM, The Flower of DOOM, Land of DOOM, and DOOM's IV???
Your source is way off."
/me opens the Variety Film Production Chart
/me sorts the database by "List according to date"
/me looks for the earliest listing in the database... a film which started production on 3/19/97
Could it be that the database, which is for information about movies IN PRODUCTION, only goes back as far as when the database first started being maintained?
Take your rantings about a nonexistent Doom movie elsewhere. Wishing really hard isn't going to make it come true.
