I was browsing through D3files and I saw some pretty interesting mods for graphic enhancement, and since my video card is better, I was wondering which ones are worth getting and which are no good.

I heard the Extreme quality mod was pretty good, but I also heard it had some problems with it. There's "detailed doom3" but it appears to just make everything look scaly...what are some other good ones worth picking up?

Most of those graphics mods make things look worse, by adding too much grainy pseudo detail on surfaces, or by totally overdoing the specular effects so that everything looks like chrome.

What tetzlaff said. Most of them just make for immature modifications that cater to people who want flashy effects rather than good visuals.

I agree with that too. If there were any 'cheap and quick' mods that would make the engine look that much better, the developers would probably have included those things in the final engine.

I think the only graphic mod needed is better texture quality. If you look at the textures closely for once they're pretty blurry for high quality.

I thought the textures look great and I usually ran on medium / low.
