I pretty much loved all of the Doom 3 monsters - for the most part, I think they did a great job updating the looks so that they wouldn't seem ridiculous in a more realistic setting. It'd probably be easier to list my gripes here. They're not major, but there are a couple. One is that I wish the trites had kept with the more humanoid appearance like in the early game media - John Carpenter's The Thing is, in my opinion, the scariest movie of all time, and I liked how the original trites seemed to be a tribute to it. Also, the cherubs were just not demonic enough - too much like insects, in my opinion, so it was easy for me to ignore the fact that they were demonic babies. Oh, and the archvile just didn't stand out enough. The original archviles are creepy as hell, but eh, the new ones just didn't seem to have much personality (appearance-wise - I will fully admit that they scared the crap out of me, but it had nothing to do with how they looked).
