I think the moment IdSoftware981 presses the 'Submit reply' button, he just puts his fingers in his ears and goes "LALALALA CAN'T HEAR YOU!!".
Most of the stuff you brought up has been dealt with before in great lengths. Doom games NEVER had a complete heavy metal soundtrack, so you either haven't played those games or you're just a metalfan thats fooling himself.
The music transitions: NO. Just NO. It just doesn't work.
Also, just to be clear: the discussion is NOT split between people who want Doom 4 to be Rambo-in-space, and those who don't. Its only you who wants it to have constant thrash metal blasting. It reminds me of that stupid Doom comic book.
You're still making stupid comparisons with Resident Evil I see. First of all, I think Resident Evil is not a great example of good survival horror to begin with (the first two RE games were good, but thats about it IMO). Second of all, PSX Doom and Doom 64 have NOTHING, I repeat NOTHING to do with survival horror! There's no survival gameplay involved. Its still an action shooter, just with atmosphere.

I think it's unrealistic to expect DOOM 4 to look nothing like RAGE. Even if the art style is different it's still id Tech 5. And if it's set on Earth that will blur the line even more. With that said, all the street shots were very far from RAGE. Interior shots were very close to what interiors in RAGE look like, true. Then again if we're talking about interiors of destroyed buildings, well, they WILL look similiar, not much can be done with that. The only difference might be the amount of dust considering RAGE is set in time where Earth has been destroyed for years.
True, but then again those screenshots could have just as well been from any kind of ruin-porn.
