i plan on putting in monsters from monsters.wad and humans.wad into a map, just wondering if its recommended to require that ppl have those wads and run them with my wad, or if i should put the monsters into my own wad, and if it's that, how do i do that?

me i would just delete the lumps and sprites ya dont need and merge the rest into your wad. takes a bit of time but it cuts down on size.

Jehad is right. I did that when I made a wad with D64 sprites and sounds. No need to add ones you aren't using in your map. Just make a copy and delete everything that isn't pertinent.

Never could get that Monsters wad working in Zdoom. Not sure what I'm doing wrong. Most of them looked pretty cool too. :(

ok, i just got a chance to open it up w/ XWE and take a look

theyre all in the same lump
i guess if things were working i could delete the entries for monsters i dont need and then do the sprites, right?

but it doesnt work just right, XWE says:

"This entry was truncated.
Only 1452 out of 3562 lines were loaded.
Saving changes to this entry would result in data loss,
therefore it is disabled."

Maybe the Dehacked file needs to be edited(?) I don't know. For ZDoom so must have something source-port specific in it.
