DECORATE weapons?

I have made a few new decorate weapons/monsters. I know how to replace an existing monster, but I don't know how to do it with inventory items. I have seen in done in the Doom3 weapons wad, I was wondering how exactly that was accomplished?

it's done the same way as with monsters. simply put a "replaces" directive into the actor definition like this:

actor ExtendedChainsaw : Chainsaw replaces Chainsaw

uhh. r u sure? the zdoom wiki says that doesn't work. i say that doesn't work

Yes. It does work. Though a good idea would be to also include a keyconf file that replaces the chainsaw with your new weapon in that slot.
