I recently master the simpler function of MAPINFO. But now I wish to learn how to do special intermission messages (A good example would be the message that appears right after you defeat the Icon of Sin)
using the power of MAPINFO.

It's really simple, but you have to set your wad up in clusters. Here's a notated excerpt from a (really bad) map I did:


map MAP01 "Cubed"
next ENDGAME
cluster 1 // Sets up the cluster

clusterdef 1 //Defines the cluster settings
exittext "You frantically pound your fists on
the walls, to no avail. The dark
forces of the Cube have had their
fun with you, and you have failed
to escape. The last few hours of
life before you suffocate from
lack of oxygen seem like an
eternity..." //Text that comes up when leaving cluster.
music D_READ_M //Normal Text music
flat DEM1_5 //The flat that's in the background

And as for plain Hexen, not ZDoom, you can change the intermission texts by editing separate lumps from the wad.
