As the title implies, I need to know how to add custom sound effects for the weapons. I know how to add custom music, though sound FX is a different story. How do I change the weapon firing sound FX? My level editor is Doom Builder 2 and my WAD editor is Slade 3. Any help will be greatly appreciated.

If they're for the standard weapons, the easiest approach is to name the custom sounds in your wad after the IWAD sounds they're replacing. You can look up the names on each weapon's Wiki page.

.WAV files are preferred for vanilla compatibility, though a growing number of ports also support .OGG sound samples.

I'm not sure vanilla can load .wav files directly. It uses its own DMX sound format, though converting a (eight-bits, mono) .wav to this format is trivial and all Doom wad editors can do it.

Thank you very much sir/madam. I'm using skulltag, so .wav files should work.
