Is there anywhere I can learn the arcane mechanics behind how this effect works? Say if I made an 9x9 grid of regular squares and made a switch trigger the Raise stairs effect in the centermost cell, how would I predict the pattern the stairs would create in advance? thanks

Was trying to put together a stair building puzzle but now I see it can't work in the manner I had planned, back to the drawing board, haha.
