Cynical Posted September 7, 2014 So, I'm trying to draw a circle around a candelabra to have a brighter light radius around it (said candelabra is under a small overhang in the ceiling. I start by drawing a straight line through the middle of it like this: http://www.imagesup.net/?di=114101299049 and using the curve linedef tool creates this: http://www.imagesup.net/?di=1114101300713 So, I try doing something similar in the middle of no-where, copy-pasting the resulting half circle, and I can get a good circle like this: http://www.imagesup.net/?di=4141013015111 But when I try drag-and-dropping it where I want it, there's no way to make the geometry merge to what's already there in any reasonable way at all. Is there any way to do what I'm attempting to do here, or am I just screwed? 0 Share this post Link to post
Cynical Posted September 7, 2014 I didn't know such a thing existed; a quick google search shows that it's GZDoom Builder only? Since this map is built for prboom-plus, I'm using standard DoomBuilder 2. 0 Share this post Link to post
scifista42 Posted September 7, 2014 By drag-and-drop you mean copy-pasting, right? Just in case, you can't just drag any whole sectors to any place. If it doesn't help, try to not paste the whole circle sector once you have it, but only (some of) its linedefs. Then redraw over them to make a proper sector. 0 Share this post Link to post

Doing this causes Doombuilder 2 to swallow my entire map into nothingness, and crash with an exception about half of the time. 0 Share this post Link to post
scifista42 Posted September 7, 2014 Oops, sorry... I believed if you joined the circular sector with its surrounding sector beforehand, there shouldn't be problems with copypasting its mere linedefs. But results might actually be the same fatal when it comes to overlapping linedefs. I guess your safest option is to remove the overhang (at least part of it), place your circle there and then redraw the overhang over the circle (which must work without errors). 0 Share this post Link to post
Cynical Posted September 8, 2014 That worked, after much wailing and gnashing of teeth (and more Doombuilder trying to swallow parts of my map). Thanks! 0 Share this post Link to post
