bartwart Posted February 9, 2004 The only reason I can think of is many people have tried in the past but the present owners of the HP Lovecraft copyrights squashed it. Any other theories? 0 Share this post Link to post
Ichor Posted February 9, 2004 Maybe no one bothered to release any until now? 0 Share this post Link to post

Ghostpilot Posted March 9, 2004 There is a Cthulhu wad out there somewhere. I have played it. I'll dive into my wad-collection and see if I can get you a name or two. 0 Share this post Link to post
SyntherAugustus Posted March 9, 2004 A Cthulhu Half-Life mod was released recently. It's not that good, though. 0 Share this post Link to post
Ghostpilot Posted March 10, 2004 Hah! *makes the victory dance* I found it! I knew I had played something like that before. Get it from here: Cthulu.zip ATTENTION: I did not make this wad. The site that it originally came frome doesn't seem to have it anymore, so I put it up on my file-page. The readme file gives me permission to distribute this wad in whatever way I want if I keep the zipfile intact with both the wad and the textfile. I will only have this wad on my file page for a short period of time. I am not allowd to store as much as I like on the university server. So be quick to download it. 0 Share this post Link to post
bartwart Posted March 11, 2004 Awesome! I'll have to play it when I get home. 0 Share this post Link to post
bartwart Posted March 12, 2004 The sprite substitutions in the deh script was all messed up. I couldn't read what those notes said either. It still needs work, but not a bad idea. 0 Share this post Link to post
Ultraviolet Posted March 12, 2004 Piezo said:what does Cthulhu stand for? Cthulu is this squid-like supposed elder-god. Read a bunch of pagan mythology and more modern H.P. Lovecraft and Alister Crowley type stuff and you'll catch right up. Possibly even the "Necronomicon." 0 Share this post Link to post

Ghostpilot Posted March 12, 2004 I know I have played it without deh-errors before. It's not THAT entertaining, but the level was somewhat well designed. 0 Share this post Link to post

Any other theories? Same reason there've been very few attempts to film Lovecraft's stories. How do you accurately picture something that the narrator describes as "undescribably hideous"? :) 0 Share this post Link to post
