hello,


i'm a newbie to the classic doom games,(arr...too late, it it?)because i'm influenced by many popular fps game nowadays. so, i want to know where the styles of these game comes from, then i bought Doom and Doom 2

-eerrr, i want to know can i play with free look in doom and doom2? if can, then how??

-the graphic is blocky, got something to fix that?

-is it a console for doom and doom2?

-i have a onboard soundcard that support that name something like ac'97...and i can't hear any sound in doom, and sometime can't in doom2, how can i fix it??

doom predates most of what u have played, enjoy the original. but all those things, an more, are made into doom now-a-days. the original doom engine is "open source", thanks ID software, so that means there are a number of great source ports that do the things u ask. I sudgest zdoom and legacyGL, also some other good ones are, edge, MBF, and zdoomGL

i love to see how the topic of a post can change so quick. As for music i am rock all the way. I hate almost all pop, and gangster rap is a disgrace(i hate real life gangs and drug dealer/addicts). Counrty does not appeal to me either, imagine some pussy ass doomer playing country music for his dooming music, personaly if u are that person i will punch u.

The graphics are blocky because the Doom engine dates back to like '91.


It can be fixed though, grab zDoom or zDoomGL and it'll be like "Half-life" or something =P
