hi i am a newbie to doom and doomworld but i have a good question for you. what are the names of some good levels for doom and doom2 and where can i find them?

Try the Eternal Doom (34 levels!)
Also the Icarus, that was mentioned above, is very good.
Also try the Aliens TC, MM 1&2 and Hell Revealed.
Those will work without a source port.

In addition to the other excellent wads mentioned above, you might want to try Long Wad. Written years ago by Steve Long for Doom 2. 32 levels, swimming pools, bowling ally, raquet ball courts and a number of other great settings for kicking some alien butt.

Doom.wad, =)
Doom2.wad, Yes I like Doom2, so bite me
Dystopia 3, this is pure fun
Hell revealed, this is hard =)
HR2 beta, I like the short, furious style of this
Aliens TC, best TC ever
MM1&2, dont like some of the levels, but most kick ass.
Vrack series by Fredrik, if you like extreme detailing
Dark Castle by Virgil, this is amazing, dont like 3d
bridges much though.
Eternal Doom, just for admiring the architecture, waay
too many hidden switches for my taste.

Or else, just browse the idgames ftp and select some random wads, a lot of them are great fun.

I'm surprised nobody's mention UACDead. That was one of the great ones. Also, anything done by TeamTNT, particularly Icarus (ghost map = DAMN scary) and Eternal.

oh god yes, UAC dead rocks! also i agree teamTNT kicks ass, they should do some more doom stuff. Also a good one to get is nightmare mall. Also another good oldschool map is a small mini-episode called elements.

Try H2H_XMAS.WAD It's a Christmas mod, 32 new levels for Doom2 I hope you like Revenants though.

Well, I din't mean literally bite me.

Anyway. Doom2 is really good actually. I dont own
Final Doom (Never seen it in ANY store) so I haven't
even played Plutonia and Evilution. If someone has a tip where to get Final Doom in Sweden (not illegally please =)

People, where are the urls?

People, do you actually think we all would honestly remember every URL for every WAD we get? However, one good place to get some Doom 2 WADs (Dimensions of Time being one of them) is here.

Just download ab lib :)

thanks a lot for your responses, guys. i was kind of expecting to be flamed and labeled "dumbass newbie". i've seen you guys tear some people up.

anyway, regarding the wads. i got many of them and played my ass off! i havent had that much fun on a fps in a long time. you have converted this former half-life addict!
