Heh, I'm posting from my Wii right now. Honestly, I don't understand all the Wii hate. It's not just about flailing your arms around like an idiot. The Wiimote really makes a good mouse substitute (much better for FPS games than dual analogs). Doom for Wii? Sounds kinda cool, I'd prolly buy it. But I wouldn't expect anything special, just a decent mouse/keyboard control substitute.

Oh, and RE4 for Wii was a damn fine game. Can't imagine trying to play that with a traditional controller.

Not a misuse, schizophrenics can be prone to outbursts of anger. Also, if he likes it, he likes it so he'll defend it. This always happens in gaming culture, people can't understand that games are to their own taste. The wii doesn't suck, if you don't like it...then you don't like it. I like it, and so do others. Also, the wii zapper would add quite a bit of a nice experience to DooM. It's fifteen years now, I think DooM could use a nice new addition to it's never ending list. Hell, I've got it on my N95 phone! And not the rpg either, the real thing.

All in all, fifteen years of DooM and I think maybe something new would increase it's popularity. DooM went up in the public eyes again just because of it's release on XBLA, imagine wii virtual console download. It'd be freakin' awesome.

I can't know if the wii likes me or not but I can dislike it.
And if I say everything sucks, only a lot of people like the wii, I might like the wii.
However we all agree on the statement that the wii has four arms but no green legs so it's no fern.

Sorry for the nonsense...

(In logic the verb sucks is a proposition in itself. "I suck" == "I dislike x" versus "I run". My first two statements were logically seen nonsense(unrelated), the last one did make sense in logic.)

Most Wii game suck. So do most PS3 games. And Xbox 360 games. It's just a matter of audience. In fact, I own a Wii, mostly because the launch titles looked good but also because Nintendo are the least souless of the "Big Three". I'd personally prefer the gaming world to be run by indy studios, who care more about games than money, but that's just me. Nintendo is the closest (I feel) we can get to that.

That's just an illusion you see due to Japan having different business ethics than North America. They're equally 'souless' as any other large company in the video game industry. I mean, they just tricked you into buying that technologically last-gen console, are you going to put up with that?

No, there's a difference between factual quality and opinion. The statement, "The wii sucks" is invalid. I could just say, "People with blue eyes suck." Because by your logic that's a valid statement. In fact, it could be used to defend everything from racism to sexism. I don't like something.... therefor it is bad and everyone else should share my opinion.

You can't just label your opinion as a fact.

The wii outsold the PS3 and the 360 by wicked figures. It even outsold the PS3 in japan! I like the wii, and I do not perceive it to suck. His opinion has no greater weight than my own, so therefor neither of us can be factual. Omg....what's that word called.

Factual quality can't normally be determined. Maybe in some aspects it's evident, such as in an outright malfunction, otherwise opinion overweighs any "objectivity" when judging something. Perhaps he may be crude or imperative, but he's the one speaking, not "reality". That might actually be pretty fun, heh.

I had the idea of porting Chocolate Doom with full USB keyboard/mouse support just for lulz (by that point, the point of playing on a console has practically been nullified).

I play House of the Dead 2 and 3 on the wii, but that game moves for you, you just aim and shoot in it. Controlling the guy in doom would be pretty annoying for me.

I tried the Wii Quake, I thought it was pretty cool, there were aiming problems from time to time and there was no saving, but it was pretty cool. :)

If it was like the Quake: Wii port in terms of gameplay, it would be nice. It would make up for the fact that you coudln't look up and down, because it would let you aim the gun up or down. They can scoot the weapon graphic left and right with the crosshair, and for up and down aiming, they can move it very slightly up and down. It would rule.

Now we just need someone to code it...
