Oh, come now. It was 1993 and texture mapping was still a newfangled thing. I think most of us here have come to love the low-tech futurism of the texture work. I mean, even in Hollywood, how many movies in 1993 portrayed the slick, hexagonal, nano-laced, curved-surface look of today's sci-fi?

That doesn't match my description, plus the movie came out decades before 1993...I'm not sure I see your point. When I said "hexagonal" I was referring to repeating hexagonal honeycomb-like patterns on surfaces, not a tunnel being hexagonally shaped.

And who knows, maybe I'm wrong. But that's extremely unlikely because I'm always right.

More like a decahedron(*), if you count the doors on each end.

* Consult your AD&D 1st edition Dungeon Masters Guide for lots more fun polyhedron types. ;)

If you pay attention to the panels, you'll notice each black bar is inside an hexagon. Though it doesn't form a honeycomb.

looks like exposed pipes...

Also, the bigbrik3 textures reminds me more of giant stone bricks, like the one used in the middle ages in the castles...
