Maybe I'm asking for too much, but would it be possible for someone to compile a new ks-pack with all the new demos (and even past ones)?

It was clearly the pack I enjoyed the most in the past few years :)

Good idea guys. It would be great to have all of these new cool demos in one pack so i can watch them all over and over again.

Btw, I have a question. I checked KS page in DSDA and this thread.
I didn't find ks30 on NM. Kn30 undone, really?
"Kids route" might be very hard. However, "Adult route" is very easy.

Um, i think it haven't been done yet. But then again as Gusta always reminds me - my informations about demo recording are quiet outdated :]

But even if there already is kn30 - Go for it. It's good to see that someone still plays this piece of porn.

btw I would really like to watch non-tas "maxdemo" on map 30 using KIDS route and killing all cybers (normal UV or -fast). Has anybody ever tried it? :-)
EDIT: Damn, I had to smile when I saw you kn30-017 demo, nice unexpected trick really :-) (you would be killer if you do it without the trick though)

Because I can't finish kn30 without the trick, I don't think UV-fast which is used KIDS route.

Nice run! You used a new route which is jumping after getting a blur artifact.

Hey, I did KS some maps on NM which hadn't been done.

Map 01 NM-speed in 0:52
Map 01 NM100S in 1:22
Map 05 NM-speed in 0:27
Map 08 NM-speed in 0:07
Map 09 NM-speed in 0:42
Map 14 NM-speed in 0:19
Map 15 NM-speed in 3:48 (Normal Exit)
Map 15 NM-speed in 1:11 (secret exit)
Map 20 NM-speed in 2:47
Map 30 NM-speed in 0:17

Map 15 (Normal Exit) is most hardest than these maps.
I think kn08 and kn15 are good run.
some records might been beat easily.

For kn07, I realised that I am not sure how that 07 trigger exactly works :-) Dunno if it needs to work to be all mancubi killed at least once or all of them has to be dead in one moment...?

I posted a similar run in the TAS thread, but tried again (and failed again). But I killed all the mancs on nightmare by blanketing them with rockets rather than individually (to delay them warping back). The arachnotrons would also be a pain in the ass but you can flip that switch from the side with effort, thus avoid having to kill all the arachs that appear near the mancs (still would be hard due to the caco horde).

Nice kn30 rocket exploit, tatsurd. I did kn30 speed (kids route) without that exploit. Run around hugging inner wall; requires luck.

I'm immensely enjoying these demos. I can just sit and watch a full hour-plus demo without even blinking (so to speak). While I'm certainly not of this calibre of play, I can certainly appreciate watching the handiwork of someone who is!

Going for a stroll with the WalkCam is just amazing as well, how awesome is it to wander ghost-like around the level watching the Marine do his cleanup work from a 3rd-person perspective!

Whoa, I never even noticed the camera mode key for demos. That's cool to walk around while paused.


That'd be cool if you could somehow make a 'ghost image' while playing (like in f zero for n64 if I remember correctly) to easily compare the speed of various routes/strategies (probably a silent, partly translucent ghost, as it could be aurally distracting or block your sight).

I wonder... I recall seeing a question on whether the WalkCam could actually be made to fly (FlyCam?) and I recently had the idea that it could maybe be updated with the code that the Cacos use to fly. Extra buttons would have to be assigned to control the levitation movement (PageUp / PageDown maybe when WalkCam'ing the demo?). After all, it can already NoClip and gets ignored by monsters as well; maybe flight is the next step!

I'm no coder, so I don't know about the feasibility of this suggestion, but it's an idea :)

And yeah, a "ghost" would be interesting for a demo, but if you do things a different way, the ghost would be shooting at monsters that aren't there anymore (because they're chasing you, the player) wouldn't it?

I would guess only doomguy would be a ghost, none of the monsters would be ghosts (or way too visually disorienting). There would only be the single set of monsters you're currently fighting, so the doomguy ghost would often appear to shoot the air, but the ghost could be used to 'compete' with your previous runs speed-wise.
