Ahhhh fuck!!!... those bastards at ID Software should've tested this fucking maps before releasing them!!! I always ask myself: ''did they do this maps on skill 4 with 100% kills and secrets!?'' well, I think not... there are neither weapons nor ammo when you need it... it'll be a problem to record maps 3 to 9... but I'm still trying... aahh, I'd like to ask a question: sometimes heretic.com(vvheretic) doesn't open the game... does someone know why this happens!?...

just nailed E4M1... very ugly demo, I dont know how it could be done without a tank full of luck with infights.

There is not enough ammo in this, so I got to use the maulotaur to clean a good deal of the start. And unlike doom's cyber, the monsters dont attack the maulotaur if he hurts em. So I got to roam around hoping some monster hit him ... completely boring.

Same goes for the end room, I need to use the serpent dudes to kill most of the liches...

One more hehe... e3m3 is already done... check the peroxyd2s incoming folder for getting it... now doing e3m2... ahh about episode 5 maps... don't think I stopped working on them, I'm still trying... but please be patient, cause it takes time... while I try to do ep5, I can do other maps, just to speed up the work...

Did E5M3 in 7:27 ... kinda slow demo but I am lazy and dont want to spend hours on that.

Ways to save time :
- do not leave the 2 liches alive at the start to kill em later, but you may risk to have a monster wandering there later... so I did it to make sure I am not missing anything
- do not fool around with monsters in the main room (when I was goofing with morph ovums) and kill em when you get out of the green key room.
- do not miss the enchanted shield (i had to go back to it)
- do not wander around wondering what to do next :)

I start with E4M2 with its simple design and nice timebomb slaughtering around the yellow key when it's lowered :)


My setup (I still need practice, but it works better now):

EDSF - forward, back, strafe left/right
SPACE - use
WR - fly up/down
AG - inventory left/right
CTRL - use item

Autorun is on.

Finished doind E5M4 :D!!!! It's not so difficult... well, only in the start, but the rest of the map is easy... I think the time wasn't so bad (9:19), but see by yourself and then tell me what you think, guys... it'll be in the site very soon... see ya!!!

Interesting setup Angus, especially the Inventory Left/right keys, this way you can keep on running when selecting artifacts and trigger them with your pinkie.

For the fly keys, for some reasons I prefer to have vertical alignement like W and X or up and down arrow, more natural than an horizontal arangement :) Whatever works best for you :)

just completed a tough map, H5M9 in 11:57 ... kinda confusing and tight on ammo. And I played real slow too ...

Just finished doing e3m6... the only thing I got nervous was when I was equiping the morph ovum but I just activated it, but ok... I didn't miss it... we're finishing the max demo pack!!!

Maybe there could be some Heretic categories in the "Best demos" event for this year? Maybe they could have categories of their own but could compete in the more general ones (best demo, best movie, etc.)

If enough non-Doom demos have been mentioned in the "Hey look at this" stage, then whoever is drawing up the actual list of categories for nominations and voting will take note.

Certainly that was the intention of my proposal for the workings of it: whatever people put forward in stage 1 would drive the decision as to whether a category should exist.

heretic demos here are not really good quality :/ I would be ashamed to see even one of this year's demos be nominated.
I aint spending nearly as much time as I did when I was playing for the Compet-n, where I could spend days/weeks polishing a run. Here I barely spent more than 30mins on each maxes, except hard ones like e4m1 (which still is a horrible demo).

The only demo I worked a bit on isn't released, a speedrun of e3m6, but I only spent like 3-4h on it.

On a side note, I was surprised to hear from Angus he had serious troubles playing with the extra commands heretic offers (flying, items,...). Activating items in the middle of action isn't so easy, especially for people that use the autorun. Using the manual run key makes item swap and activation much easier. I guess having a weird config helps :)

these eventually could as well as a couple other ones, but they are not 2006 :)
