BTW, there is a wad of the place where the LAN was held:

G8

It's accurate in some respects, though not all. I didn't spot the megasphere behind the bar, and there were no crushers on the stairs.

So this was the map that you were playing, I knew I've seen it somewhere before (the KFC door texture is quite unique) but I couldn't recall what it was.

Too bad I've already written a review for it, now that I've actually been to the place this has a whole new meaning to it :)

If the LAN was even half as fun as it sounds, I'd say missing it is the worst thing that has happened to me during the last couple of years. :-(((

Anyway, I'm happy for all the participants. I'm currently out of town (and with limited net access) but when I get back I'm hoping to see the output of the event! BTW, who won the KS2 competition? :-)

There was no KS2 competition at the end, because I didn't handle to build the contest map in time. So I took an alternate map from KS2 but just on the place I realized that I took some bad unfinished version of it so ... well but I don't care now as it showed that the contest map was not needed at all because we had some good contests on Scythe maps which are short and much more simple for some quick route planning.
Btw. There were already some thoughts to repeat this kind of LAN once again in the future so don't worry perhaps this was not the last LAN party in CR ever.

I had a lot of fun both at G8 and in the pubs, you czech people drink beer as well as us swedes I guess =). Good coop sessions with method on very frustrating but still entertaining runs (scythe movies mostly). IF you get together another lan in .cz I will sure try to come there again (if nothing else then for cheap beer and good company =). When and where will the demos be posted?

Hahaha! I kinda expected us on rank 1 :-) but sweden on 31? You have to make much more effort! But, well, Erik, you personally are a strong opponent in drinking :-)
The demos will be posted probably here but when? We have to wait for Method with that.

We've been having LAN parties twice a year for couple of years now, but none of them was coop/single oriented. So in many ways this was a unique experience for most of us, well i played a couple of duels and lotsa CTF so not much of a change for me, but i liked the different atmosphere and meeting all of our foreign guests was an interesting experience.

Hi there! Ok, I registered here to say something, right? :). The Lan party was just great! I really enjoyed meeting new people and playing all those fun games there was really cool. I played a bit from all.. two nice coop runs recorded (thanx Grazza+Opulent and Gusta+Belial for inspiration:)), CTF 2v2, 3v3, TDM, 1v1, everything. I did even a bit of single player stuff (which brings back the one man show of Radeg doing Doom2 speed movie... nice to see that in real).

It was all the way different from usual LAN parties of czech comunity, when we play only CTF tournament + some other stuff, but not as much fun games as here.

My only hope is that this party will be done again in the future and that more people will come from abroad. Im Looking forward to that!

PS: I do not have to say that the friday pub meeting was great beginning od this all, do I? :)

I'm sure this lan wasn't last and as Tomsa said i hope on next will be more and more abroad guys! Would be nice to repeat it in one year or so..

Also i talked to Typone and he said he would like to arrive soon and drink :) Just pub meeting for people who are interested..

So i tried to order demos (DM) and i found it as impossible ;) Names of demos don't say anything about who played against who so it seems dm demos will be unsorted...So in future - XXYyyZzz.lmp (X - First game, 2nd game etc. so like 01, 02...Y - First 3 chars of your nick....Z - First 3 chars of opponents nick) :)

I also quite remember some fights+ I think I named all my demos in some understandable way, at least those 1v1s and TDM etc... I think maybe those CTF demos are not named properly, but these are none of the concern here anyway, right?:).

So: Draza and Draza2 is me vs Draza, and all those where it says "rano" is me vs the one whos nick is there and the game was in the morning (sunday)... So most of those are mine demos except for "meeams"...

Heh, my crazy Polish name is actually Przemysław, but seeing how I've only used it like, once or twice in recent demo txt files it's a minor typo.

I really wish we had time for more and improved Scythe maxes. Maybe next time ;)

I am sorry Vincent (yes ... the LAN was much more about the meeting then about "so serious" recording ... but I dont regret) and Belial (I thought that I wrote it right, hope that Grazza will correct your name in the txt - I will still call you "Premek" - thats without any typo mistake in czech at least :-)
EDIT: Belial, I wish this too ... be sure that there will be a "next time" quite soon !!! :-)

Reuploaded, with Belial's name corrected (only the z moved; sorry, no l with the bar across it, but that is too easily screwed up by differing character sets). I also made a few trivial improvements in the text, and removed the extra folder info, because it was annoying me and I didn't really see what purpose it served.

I am happy that the LAN party was the way it was. The word "party" being almost as important as the word "LAN" helped make it a very pleasant event all round.

BTW, I don't see any reason not to release a package of the DM, CTF, etc., demos. They're of interest too.

It is important to keep in mind that all of the Prague-lan demos were played for fun. This wasn't a tournament.
