my request: an uvmax demo for this map: The Hell Cave
the first part is very anoying and need a lot of patience(no ssg , not enough amo)
i'm trying to max it since a long time, but i didn't manage, even using savegame.
1ntru, j4rio are you able to beat it ?

Oh wow, sorry for taking so long to answer, I didn't notice my name was mentioned here!! I took a look at the map, it seems amazingly long and hard, especially thanks to the low ammo. I played it a few times but never got any far. I don't feel like dedicating to this map.

And guess what? This map was stolen, edited and then used as MAP21 on Chillax.wad, the hardest wad ever. The edited version is clearly impossible.

I find it quite comical that some chillax bullshit actually gets any attention. It's a heap of maps stolen from Phmlspd, Macabre3 and speedrun contest that was around months ago, except that random monsters were replaced by cybies and no ammo balance, nor playability was implemented.

I'd like to see a Reality/Max demo of Episode 1 from doom.wad. BUT, with the stipulation that you are allowed to get hurt from damaging sectors (acid). I know that's not a true "reality" demo, but there's quite a bit of acid and for a few longer parts you have to get lucky to not get hurt by the acid. Damaging sectors can really ruin a good "reality" experience on some maps, so I think a sub-category within "reality" would be fun. Anyone agree?

I've done it with saves, but have only made it to e1m3 while recording. There are so many hitscanners that it's quite bullshitty.

Are there any reality demos for doom.wad? I couldn't find any on dsda, but I'm not sure if all the doom demos are there.

There are many Reality demos for Doom.wad on DSDA -- just open its page and launch the search function for the word "reality".

A reality (or "sub-reality") movie for Episode 1 would be impressive to watch, though I personally find "Thy Flesh Consumed" to be more fun for this category. Also, it would be less annoying to do (as episode 4 doesn't focus too much on hitscanners), and I think it's humanly feasible without even being hurt by damaging floors.

Oops, my bad. I mainly looked in the movie categories for reality.

Yeah, pretty much any reality/max movies would be cool to see. Ep4 sounds like fun. I won't try it myself cuz I don't know ep4 at all.

Max demos for kssht.wad would be fun to watch and probably wouldn't be too time-consuming to make. A bunch of small, entertaining, and for the most part, nonlinear maps.

Perseus uploaded a really cool 2002 wad: Coadjutor to the Stars. I would like to see uv-max for it. Here is a little nomo demo that shows two tricks in the nukage room:

Anything from Eternally Yours, please? No demos vs. 31 Reverie demos - same author - "because it's not a MegaWAD"??

I have the wad, it's very nice, kind of like reverie and doomcore (probably speaking the obvious there). If I could make a decent demo tomorrow I could set up a thread for the wad. I have to admit demos on recent wads have been in short suply, apart from doom core and khorus speedy shit, not much has been demoed on wads recently, jenesis is a brilliant wad which hasn't had much speedrun life put into it, same with base ganymede which is a demo thread I started. People have just been busy or recording on other wads. I'm sure people will record demos :)

I remember I recorded FDAs for Eternally Yours, and so did Revved. The wad, though, wasn't on its final version, so I didn't care about doing Maxes or Speeds for it.

To be honest I don't know if a new version has been made, but all levels seemed very cool to max, even if you're just playing casually. So, what are we going to do about it? :)

Well the link VDGG gives is from the idgames database so I would assume it's finished and ready for demoing, shame I don't really have time this weekend to do anything :/

z0diac, who is Plutonia Tyson specialist, said that out of undone Tysons the map which is most likely to be conquered is pl19. I really don't know how on Earth even this one is possible, therefore I wouldn't give much hope to any other maps.
From MM/MM2/Requiem I didn't check them all, but most of them; it looks like m229 is the easiest one from the undone ones.

19 seems doable if you startle cyb and get very lucky infghts, then waste leftover bullets at him, 26 would be doable were it not for the room where you get stuck in with 4 or 5 HKs and imps appearing afterwards, but would be a miracle to manage even without that room, 29 has probably too much unreachable stuff, 23 might be actually doable in theory as I don't recall any killer parts, you can roam everywhere and lure most of monsters around map and might even use archvile to generate some ammo from chainers if you lure it somehow. To me 23 seems as the most likely to be doable, but still of extreme difficulty.

what about map09? I remember analyzing that one and concluding that the beginning is very possible, and the ending can be done with some good infights. In particular, it is necessary to get a revenant to hurt a mancubus

Map 9 is done, in prboom+ at least.

I tried 23 a bit and the beginning is the most annoying part, unless some way to handle it is discovered. Played around 2 hours, got one attempt where I finally survived beginning, then screwed up because I improvised and that never ends well. There is no really tough place besides start, but some are tedious to clear, like those 2 archviles on pillars. They will take a good while to die, but at least they create ammo batch while constantly reviving chainers. This should definitely be the next one to check.

Just to say impressive demo and impressive analysis, j4rio. I didn't quite understand however your pt26 comment on "getting stuck". Here's 16 minute failed try, 53 kills, 106 monsters remaining, showing how to deal with the hell knights. pt26 is similar to pt23, but:
- less archviles
- more bullets
so I'll try it just for fun, hehe.
Recorded with PrBoom+ -complevel 4

Edit: Lols, I just got 100 kills after 34 minutes, 59 remaining. That's almost 2/3! I recommend trying MAP26 instead of 19/23 :)

Oh, you can still run out before door closes. I thought there is a trigger that closes that door somewhere in that room and therefore stucks you in with 5 HKs. Yeah, it's definitely possible in that case.

Has anyone looked at pt28? it seems like it should be possible, with good infighting in places, and a chainsaw. However, I have not completed my analysis of the map, so I don't know if there are some really tough spots.

Couldn't resist the joy of smashing putin's brain, so gave it a try. Recorded a 6:21 in few tries with all kills, don't know how to find a secret though, so not attaching it. Can push it under 6min, wonder how much time could that invuln cut, if any.

p.s. putin eats children!

Two more improvements in a row, and it's at 4:50. Vastly improvable, but sadly i won't have time to play in the nearest time because of studying. Leaving it as it is for now. So great map. Srsly.

p.s. well, yeah, you got it.

One of the maps I like the least and I know the least. It seems easy at first, one problem I encountered are big piles of barons/hell knights blocking your path at the end of a long tunnel. Also there might be too many surviving barons which would make finishing last monsters a chore (similar to m217). OTOH, health is fine and there is ample space most of the time. Looks quieter than pt23, not my cup of tea though.
