Playing back old DOOM 2 v1.9 mod demos?

Recommended Posts

Hello.

Many years ago, I used DOSbox and the old DOOM DOS files to play back and record demos in my old DOOM 2 mods with their own custom pwads, DeHackEd (deh), etc.: http://zimage.com/~ant/antfarm/files/doom2/j2doom/j2doom.html ... They were only 320x240 and blurry. I'd like to do higher resolutions, better graphics (Doomsday?), etc. Can any of the newer DOOM programs do this?

Thank you in advance. :)

Eternity Engine and PrBoom-Plus are both compatible with vanilla wads and demo playback, while allowing high resolutions and other modern port features.

Also, please don't crosspost threads on multiple subforums.

Thanks! I remember demo playbacks were picky on version numbers. :)

That site is out of date, but there's up-to-date download links and information at http://eternity.youfailit.net/

OK, I got my old DOOM 2 mod to work! Although it is not user friendly on how to get them to work due to configuration files and stuff! Does this Eternity Engine do recording to a video file? I don't see anything about it like DOSbox, prdoom plus, etc.?
