Shaviro posted news about his upcoming project, RTC-3057. You'll find why the project has been delayed, a list of the mappers currently involved (namely Nick "Nightmare" Baker, Cyb, Violent Ed and Shaviro himself) and some information about what to expect as a soundtrack. Last, but not least, while pointing out what a hard work dsm achieved so far, Shaviro talks about a yet unrevealed other project.

youu should use jdoom cause it got md2 and lensflares, zdoom is ugly

ZDoom is just vanilla Doom with a shitload of additional cool features, like mouselook, blood spatter on walls etc.

Anyway, ZDoom is the port we use both for RTC-3057 and the as of yet unnamed project because we need sloped surfaces. Can JDoom provide sloped surfaces? Not afaik, so bug off :-)

JDoom doesn't really offer much in the way of new editing features; it's a players' port, not an editors' port. Besides, people who want that stuff can simply use ZDoomGL to play RTC-3057.
